what kind of society are we becoming?

this is not what my father taught me on the golf course. nor in life.
two sunnyvale brothers are facing federal charges for allegedly assaulting an older golfer whom they derided as "gramps" on the nasa ames research center golf course in mountain view, court records released today show.

the suspects, ryan maxwell alexander, 21, and charles talmage alexander, 20, allegedly attacked edwin j. league, 61, on sept. 18 after the victim asked them if he could "play through" because they were playing slowly at the golf course at moffett field, authorities said. - sfgate

The Moffett Field Golf Club is a military facility operated by and for the US Air Force. There is a better than average chance at least one of the men involved in this was a US government employee.

Actually, it's a military facility, but it's leased to NASA, and is open to all NASA employees and their families, as well as to military retirees. My suspicion is that the two young men in question were family of NASA employees, and that the man assaulted was a military retiree.
