Now that we are seven months removed from the fight over the single largest expansion of government in US history, its a good time to take stock and point out some silver linings.
In a perverse sort of way, ObamaCare may be the best thing that could have come out of Obamas first term as President. Had he and the Democrat leadership opted to push a more limited program that only extended to those who couldnt afford health insurance, Americans may have gone for it, thus locking in...
The media have a history of offering more heat than light on many issues. Recall publisher William Randolph Hearst's telegram to a photographer on assignment to document the supposed conflict in Cuba in 1897: "You furnish the pictures, and I'll furnish the war."
In the heated debate over the use and effects of bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical used in food packaging and hard plastic containers, Americans are being exposed to a largely phony war.
BPA is a ubiquitous...
While the rest of the media both new and decrepit was distracted by the firing of Juan Williams by NPR, another story, with implications that affected each and every American, went virtually unnoticed. As is the standard operating procedure for the decrepit and, now, verifiably corrupt mainstream media, this alarming story received no coverage because it painted President Obama in a bad, nay, an honest light. I am at a quandary as to why the new media neglected the issue.
Dont...
Systemic corruption throughout the Arkansas Democrat Party in charge of the election process is exposed and under fire, thanks to state and local citizen precinct activists who understand the true power of the precinct delegate position.
Arkansas has been controlled by Democrats for so many years that there was barely a Republican Party presence in the state prior to citizen activists learning and employing...
In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote, Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute...
Really, I must be a glutton for punishment. During the past couple of weeks, I wrote two articles on libertarianism and made the point that for a law to be just, it must have a basis in morality. These commentaries evoked quite a response, ranging from lauding me as brilliant to lambasting me for not having two brain cells to rub together. And the negative responses were most notable. For daring to mention morality and law in the same breath, some implied I was like the Taliban, one respondent...
In the 4/19/10 edition of USA Today, religious antiquarian Phillip Jenkins, by comparing extremist Islam with assorted atrocities committed in the name of Christianity over the centuries, details from an historical perspective how any religion can be co-opted in the name of violence. Though his warning is in part a timeless one that needs to be considered in all ages, Professor Jenkins' case overlooks a number of important points.
First, it must be remembered that, though horrible,...
I do not lightly use the names of the only cities in history obliterated by the use of Atomic weapons. The nature of the cause in which they forever stand as sentinels of determination precludes their use for any profane purpose. I wouldnt use such loaded terms unless the issue at hand wasnt equally as momentous within the flow of American History.
Hearing the voice of the people on November 3rd, President Obama ought to pivot to the Center after the coming Tea Party driven Republican...

Much confusion reigns today because we think in terms of a left-right dichotomy. Communism is on the left we are told to believe and Fascism comes from the right, while people and parties are called either "leftist" or "rightist." Adding to the confusion, Liberals believe absolutely...

Some say it's actually a disease. Others are sadly born with it. Others just become that way. People are generally getting bigger.

There are many weapons one can use when battling an alcohol or drug addiction. For some addicts, faith proves to be the greatest weapon of all. The Catholic Drug Rehab program offered by A Forever Recovery combines core Church values with cognitive therapy and physical detoxification. The addict finds a path to recovery with this faith based drug rehab program, one that runs alongside his true spiritual path.
The counselors assigned to the Catholic drug rehab program are all Catholics themselves, and some are former addicts. This gives the addict a support system of people who share the same belief system, and often who have shared the same addictions. The average stay at A Forever Recovery is 30 to 90 days, but there are no time limits set; each addict recovers at his own pace, without the pressure of being released before he is ready. The Faith Based Drug Rehab program has a fixed cost, and financing is available.
It is important to make sure that one has auto insurance. In many states liability insurance is required and one must show proof of insurance before one can license a vehicle or renew ones drivers license. There can be a substantial penalty if one does not have the proper insurance including fines, drivers license suspension, and having ones car impounded.
An easy remedy is to obtain an auto insurance quote from Farmers Insurance. Their agents can find exactly the right type of coverage that is required in ones state. Although insuring an automobile may be required by law, it does not mean that one must pay an unnecessarily large premium for coverage. Farmers Insurance is the right place to find the right coverage.
