Sarah Palin: What They’re Really Shoveling Isn’t Asphalt

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Jonathan Martin of Politico was predictably gruff when describing the GOP Rally In Anaheim: “Vote for Real Change” describing Sarah Palin as kryptonite for many general election candidates. Jonathan, you silly, delusional led-around-by-the-nose lapdog. Get a clue.

Just one of the money quotes from her speech was, “All those shovel ready jobs, remember? Actually, just apologize for the stimulus itself and make a joint apology because you don’t want to leave out Harry, Nancy and Barbara and all of the others who were part of that lemon of a spending boondoggle. The biggest boondoggle in spending history. Really folks, what did taxpayers get with that trillion bucks besides more debt? Now we knew all along, what they really were shoveling was not asphalt.”

Special thanks to Right Scoop for the video.

Back In The Groove Bama Keeps Ole Miss In Check

BERJAYA
The eighth-ranked Crimson Tide found out how resilient they were Saturday at Bryant-Denny stadium against Mississippi.

Defending national champion Alabama had won nineteen consecutive games, the last two against Top Ten opponents, before falling 35-21 to then No. 19 South Carolina last Saturday to fall out of the top spot in the rankings.

The loss was the Crimson Tide's first since a 31-17 defeat to Utah on Jan. 2, 2009, in the Sugar Bowl.

The Crimson Tide rebounded by smothering Ole Miss QB Jeremiah Masoli and the league's top scoring offense. Greg McElroy completed 17 of 25 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns for the Tide.

Ole Miss had just 41 yards and two first downs by halftime before starting to move the ball at times in the second half. Masoli was 18-of-40 passing for 110 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Yellow hankies littered the field for the Rebels with twelve penalties for 106 yards.

Somethin’ 4 Mutton: National Bosses Day Edition

Saturday, October 16, 2010

BERJAYA
National Bosses Day is normally October 16th of each year, but when that day falls on a weekend, it’s generally celebrated on the closest working day.

A good leader understands how much we all yearn for a good boss.

Fiscal year 2010-2011 just began and with that comes a new set of employees to lead at work. I’ve been presenting year-end evaluations for the employees who were under my wing for the past six months and preparing to welcome my new folks.

I have been inundated at work and at home this past week and haven’t had many opportunities to post so this week’s Somethin’ 4 Mutton should be short and sweet.

Let’s get on with the shameless linky-love shall we?

Your Moment Of Zen For October 9, 2010 garnered a link from The Frugal Café. (Vickie must like the picture of Fearless Reader with his fingers in his ears in the picture associated with that post).

Politizoid makes some damn fine videos. “Recovery Summer” was linked by The Current.

Am I the only one who is wicked tired of the same old tired, worn out blah, blah, blah from this jerk named Barry? What the hell has POTUS got against Slurpees? Linking to Brain Freeze were Maser Media, The Pirate’s Cove and the blogprof.

If you followed the link to Brain Freeze, you noticed that I used a photograph from Circa 1929. The truck was stuck in a ditch with folks standing around and Fearless Reader was holding the cool, refreshing drink he’s taken to referring to when denegrating Republicans. Little did I know that elsewhere in the Intertoobs others were injecting Mr. Narcissism into Great Depression Era photographs. Moonbattery noted, “Comrade Obama has blessed this country by vacationing from one end of it to the other while we sink deeper into an economic morass beneath the crushing weight of Big Government.”

I joined in on the fun by creating a series of snarky Great Depression Era photographs. Linking to them was So It Goes In Shreveport, Washington Rebel, The Camp Of The Saints, POWIP, The Sundries Shack and Mind Numbed Robot.

On occasion I whip up a video of my own as was the case with “We’re Not Going To Wait For You To Get Your Act Together.” Linking the vid was Wikio and Liquida.

The scourge of Detroit and environs, John Conyers (D-MI), spoke to members of Democratic Socialists Of America the day of the One Nation hatefest on the Washington Mall making it clear that the socialist agenda is shaping the policies of the 111th Congress. Linking to Democratic Socialists Of America: The Special Interests Behind Congressional Policies was Nice Deb.

That should do it for this week’s edition of S4M. I hope you are ready to become a part of something historic on November 2nd. I cast my early vote today. I met some really nice people in line at my polling place. Unlike Mrs. President-in-Training, we didn’t discuss who to cast our vote for but we knew we were all of like mind.

It’s halftime and the Alabama Crimson Tide has just left the field of play against Ole Miss. The score is 16-3. Alabama leads the Rebs. Gotta go and watch my boys keep the heat on. I can’t take a loss like last week’s against the South Carolina Gamecocks.

Have a great week everyone and I hope you’ll tune in next week for another riveting edition of Somethin’ 4 Mutton. Roll Tide!

Democratic Socialists Of America: The Special Interests Behind Congressional Policies

The Heritage Foundation was sent the video embedded below which shows Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) speaking to the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) before the One Nation Rally on the Washington Mall on October 2, 2010. Socialists comprised the largest contingent attending the hatefest.

DSA National Director Frank Llewellyn introduces Conyers to the group and he focuses in on the notion of a “one-world concept” in which every nation is responsible for one another, and beholden to international regimes or multinational organizations. Conyers says: “We understand the significance of it. We know that when unions, political ideology, clergy, labor, civil rights, come together, and just people that are progressive enough to see in this one-world concept, that we’re all in this together. It makes certain things pretty easy to understand where we’re coming from.”

Conyers then turns his attention to the political forces opposing the errand boy sent by grocery clerks. He says: “In 2012, there is a highly organized effort to make sure he (Obama) is a one-term president. It started even before he was sworn in. It’s grown. I only mention the Tea Party, because they are small and dismissible. But there are much more serious and affluent sources behind this effort to interfere with a re-election campaign of Obama.”

This is a glaring example of the enemy within.
