AceD223
Best things about this cover:
  • Look familiar? (see Paperback 938)
  • On line at the Genius Bar: "It won't reboot."
  • I wanna do a coffee table book of old scifi art called "When Robots Looked Cool."
  • Actually this one only looks cool above the waistline. Down below, things are a little spindly.
AceD223.2
Best things about this other cover:
  • You do not want to make an illegal throw-in in space soccer. The penalty's pretty harsh.
  • Love the guy's double fear-hand (which are really shock-hand, but I'm gonna say "close enough").
  • The nose-high black latex suit really completes the "Intergalactic Sexual Sadist" look.

One crushing fact rolled down on Kesley like a shock wave. One fact.

Please enjoy this eternal cliffhanger.

SexArmedSvcs

Best things about this cover:
  • Navy women sleep with sophisticated diplomats, where Army men sleep with French whores.
  • I have to say that I am disappointed with the balance here between "Sex" and "the Armed Services." You mean I have to *imagine* the sex? Total ripoff.
  • This will sound weird, but the more I look at our two protagonists, the more I like them. They have a distinctly cool look that makes me want to know more about them. I want them to be rivals, scheming for ... something. They would have chemistry, but they would not be a couple. They might have to team up, perhaps using the French whore to pull a scam on the sophisticated diplomat. I'm not sure where the sex comes in, exactly.
  • I LOVE these fake sciencey books that the sex publishers put out in the '60s (complete with caduceus / "Human Behavior" logo, Ha ha: "4 out of 5 scienticians agree, our books contain plausible human behavior"). Part of the whole post-Kinsey "Your Right To Know" "studies" of "real" sex lives, allowing adults to unembarrassingly indulge their penchants for voyeurism. I'm pretty sure the sex anecdotes contained therein are entirely fictional.

SexArmedBC

Best things about this back cover:
  • "Code Red, Code Red, Emergency ... I'm gonna have to go lesbian!" Once you go lesbian, you never go back. Or you do, whatever.
  • What the hell does "mingle promiscuously" look like? Is that when you grope boobs at a cocktail party? "Can I freshen your drink? How 'bout stick my tongue down your throat? No? OK..."
  • LOVE the last sentence, which posits that the military encourages "abnormal" behavior.

The old nurses handled me impersonally, like I was something made of wood, but the very young ones would blush and glance away when their attentions aroused me.

Heh heh. "Wood."

BERJAYA
Best things about this cover:

  • What the hell happened to her torso. It's like taffy ... or krazy bread. Yikes. Everything from the bottom of her breast to the middle of her ass needs to be ReDone!
  • When Thing isn't hanging out with the Addams Family ...
  • This is actually a nicely designed cover, as sleaze covers go. Like the rectangular segments - very mid-century modern.
BERJAYA
Best things about this back cover:
  • I can tell you that, compared to the back covers of many sleaze novels, this one is remarkably lucid. That is, it doesn't sound it was translated from English into Urdu by a Swede and then back into English by a half-witted Czech.
  • "I'm gonna be late again tonight, honey ... yeah, I've got that damned Sin Meeting I was telling you about ... yeah. Boss really wants us new acolytes to work hard pushing his new 'Shrine of Evil' theme parks ... OK, I'll call you when we're done Embracing Lust!"

Page 123~ (this better be good)

His hands went to her blouse, cupping the ripe thrusts of her breasts.

Oh yeah. That's the stuff. OK, I cheated - that's page 124. But page 123 was all descriptions of driving. Just ... driving. No fun.

I have to believe that if I google "ripe thrusts" right now I get exactly zero hits. . . 71 hits! That's insane. They appear to be all porn sites, although hit 1 appears to be about some kind of lemon. I'm not clicking through to find out.
