Double-talking on Israel: U.S. aids Palestinians?

ZOA Opposes Obama’s Funding Palestinian Construction In Judea/Samaria - While Demanding Israel Stop Jewish Construction

Obama demands Jews stop construction while building PA foothold in same areas

By Aaron Klein
WorldNetDaily

BERJAYADespite its history of friendly relations with Israel, the U.S. has been aiding Palestinian Authority construction in areas where the work could tilt the outcome of Mideast negotiations in favor of the Palestinians.

By aiding Palestinian construction of infrastructure in the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem, the U.S. has effectively been helping the PA create facts on the ground that could push disputed neighborhoods toward becoming part of a Palestinian state, including areas where the land in question is wholly owned by Jews.

While the Obama administration has been demanding a complete halt to all Jewish construction in the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem, the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, has been financing Palestinian infrastructure projects in those same territories. Some of the projects include the construction of PA municipal buildings as well as roads and other infrastructure.

Case and point are multiple towns in the West Bank in what is known as Area C – neighborhoods controlled by Israel. Last month the State Department inaugurated a USAID-funded Palestinian school in Beit Ijza, a West Bank neighborhood about five miles northwest of Jerusalem. The U.S. has also been aiding in multiple other West Bank areas with the construction of roads and municipal facilities. (Read more…)

Peace process a disgrace

Op-ed: Why is Israel offering concessions in return for what was agreed to in past deals?

Moshe Dann, YNET

Wait a minute. Wasn’t Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish state part of the Oslo Accords?

“The Government of the State of Israel and the PLO team… representing the Palestinian people, agree that it is time to put an end to decades of confrontation and conflict, recognize their mutual legitimate and political rights, and strive to live in peaceful coexistence and mutual dignity and security and achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive peace settlement and historic reconciliation through the agreed political process.”

If this isn’t what Prime Minister Netanyahu is asking for now, what does this document mean?

Netanyahu is offering autonomy only

By Ted Belman

No doubt PM Netanyahu would have rather spent the last 18 months in hell than to have spent it participating in the peace process under brutal pressure by the Obama administration. Come to think of it, it must have been hell.

Keep in mind that Netanyahu was voted into office on a platform which denied the two-state solution.  The Obama administration succeeded in forcing a dramatic change in that policy.  Or did it? On June 14/09 Netanyahu delivered a speech at Bar Ilan University in which he appeared to accept a two state solution with these words,

“In my vision of peace, two peoples live freely, side-by-side, in amity and mutual respect. Each will have its own flag, its own national anthem, its own government.”

What do American Jews Really Think?

Ted is correct American Jews support the recognition by the P-Arabs of Israel as a Jewish state but they also support a Pali State and only 60% support a United undivided Jerusalem. A Majority is in favor of ethnic cleansing of Jews from Y & S and E Jerusalem. They are split over creation of a Pali state
I see Nothing to write home about or to be overly encouraged about American Jewish Support. Yamit

AJC Survey Shows Jewish Disapproval of President Obama Rising

Click here to read the full AJC Fall 2010 Survey

October 12, 2010 – New York – Growing Jewish concerns over President Obama’s handling of U.S.-Israel relations and the Iran nuclear threat are apparent in a just-completed American Jewish Committee (AJC) survey, the second national survey of American Jewish opinion conducted this year by the global advocacy organization.

A series of questions regarding the Arab-Israeli peace process yielded results similar to previous surveys, showing continuity in American Jewish views of a Palestinian state, the status of Jerusalem, and West Bank settlements.

American Jews remain nearly unanimous – 95 percent – in supporting the proposal requiring the Palestinians to recognize Israel as a Jewish state in a final peace agreement. In March and in 2009, the figure was 94 percent.

Like the March results, the new survey found that 48 percent favor, and 45 percent oppose, establishment of a Palestinian state.

Regarding the future of West Bank settlements, 6 percent say “all”, 56 percent say “some”, and 37 percent say “none” should be dismantled as part of a permanent agreement with the Palestinians.

Honigman: The Quest for Justice

BERJAYAGerald A. Honigman is a good friend of mine and a leading historian on the Middle East.

His book, The Quest For Justice In the Middle East…The Arab-Israeli Conflict In Greater Perspective, made its academic debut in Washington, D.C. in October 2009 at the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) Conference.

According to him,
The Quest for Justice in the Middle East is an endeavor to place the struggle between Arab and Jew into a much broader and far more accurate context, providing that greater perspective needed for this to occur and for all peoples in the region–not only (but not excluding) Arabs–to obtain their own fair share of justice.

Comments from some leading analysts and tv personalties follow.

U.S. Jews and Israel versus Barack Obama

[This supports my view of Bibi's declaration of Independence.]
In a recent poll, 95% of American Jews felt the demand that Palestinians recognize Israel as the Jewish state is justified.
By Avi Beker, HAARETZ

Results of a recent American Jewish Committee survey regarding American Jews’ opinions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the U.S. government leave little room for doubt: 95% of respondents felt the demand that Palestinians recognize Israel as the Jewish state in a final status agreement is justified. Over three-quarters of those surveyed believe the Arabs’ real objective is not the restoration of occupied territories, but rather the destruction of Israel.

Demilitarized Palestinian State?

“The main thing is that Netanyahu has recognized the right of Arabs to establish a sovereign state in our homeland. None of his conditions and reservations can hide this abomination. Whoever recognizes the right of his enemy to establish a state in his homeland has abandoned all principle and all that is left to do is argue over the price. Whoever has left his religion and changed his faith cannot insist on observing the commandments of what is no longer his faith. Whoever has abandoned his patrimony has no basis on which to insist on continuing to build on its lands”.

Once upon a time, there was such a state.

by Prof. MK Arieh Eldad

“I don’t think there’s a Palestinian nation. There’s an Arab nation. I don’t think there’s a Palestinian nation. That’s a colonial invention. Since when were there Palestinians? I think there’s only an Arab nation. Until the end of the 19th century, Palestine was the southern part of Greater Syria.”

If I had said this, I would undoubtedly be called a Jewish nationalist, a racist, and worst of all – detached from yet, note well, these words were spoken by former MK Dr. Azmi Bishara in an interview with Yaron London several years ago. Bishara is a leader of Israeli Arab citizens who openly identify with the enemy, and who was forced to flee Israel under suspicion of aiding Hizbullah in wartime.

When Benjamin Netanyahu delivered his Bar-Ilan speech, he could have used these words. He could have ripped the mask of deception from the terrible historical lie that we have taken to our hearts as if it were written on the Tablets of the Law given at Sinai. “Two States for Two Nations” has become holy dogma and anyone who challenges its validity is suspected of blasphemy. Israeli Sovereignty Now!

by Moshe Dann

PM Netanyahu’s demand that Palestinian leaders recognize Israel as a Jewish state is not a semantic tease; Israel’s Jewish character is its raison d’etre and the essence of its sovereignty. That includes Judea and Samaria.

Israeli leaders are addicted to the “waiting-for-their-phonecall” concept – giving up Judea and Samaria, the “West Bank” in return
Despite formal treaties and “peace plans,” most Arabs reject Israel’s very right to exist, not which territory it occupies.
PM Netanyahu’s offer to continue a freeze on Jewish building if Palestinian leaders recognize Israel’s right to exist is more of the same nonsense.

If Israeli politicians are unwilling to extend sovereignty to this “disputed territory,” why should they object if the Palestinians declare it their homeland, with full sovereignty, and ask for international recognition?

Israeli reluctance undermines its diplomatic position, strengthens those who condemn Israel for its “illegal occupation,” and plays into the hands of those who would wipe Israel off the map. (Read more…)

It’s Islam Stupid…

“The leftist-liberal argument that economic assistance and technological aid would inevitably lead to democracy and secularism is irrational and devoid of any empirical evidence. Prognosticators and bogus secular-liberal politicians have failed to understand Islam. History of Islamic countries suggests that affluence, economic and military assistance and greater wealth will not automatically lead to political freedom, social change and human rights. Islamic religious leaders say that democracy and secularism are incompatible with Islam”.

ISLAMIC COGNITIVE DISSONANCE AND LIBERAL INCENTIVES

by Dr. Babu Suseelan

PART 1: ISLAMIC HATRED SYNDROME AND LIBERAL INCENTIVES

As Jihadis express outrage and Imams issue death threats against American, Israelis and Indian infidels, our liberal media and phony intellectuals are responding, not with condemnation of Jihadi hatred and death threats, but with condemnation of American-Indian-Israeli policies.

Wherever Muslims are on the rampage, commit homicide bombing, honor killing, or attacking religious shrines and causes deaths of thousands of innocent people, liberals are ready with their blame game. They say that we (infidels) must consider winning the hearts and minds of angry Muslim.

The liberal preaching of appeasement, unconditional positive regard for Islamic terrorists and non-judgmental attitude towards heinous crimes committed by Jihadis clearly evades one blatant truth: the Islamic hatred against infidels. Such opinion is irrational, and devoid of any reality. It is bad faith, a dishonorable evasion of Islamic reality, a flight from responsibility. (Read more…)

Sarah Palin will be the next President

After listening to her latest speech, who can doubt it.

She is absolutely amazing the way she delivers a speech and rallies the crowd. The audience was cheering and clapping throughtout her barn-buning speech. She instilled the audience with pride, patriotism, energy and enthusiasm. I have never heard a speech like this. She is incomparable.

One more thing. A few days ago Palin spoke at an event of the Liberty and Freedom Foundation. After the speech she participated in a Q and A and the moderater said he first wanted to thank three groups who organized the event. The second group he named was the Coalition of Jewish Republicans whereupon, Palin yelled “yeah” and clapped her hands. I have never seen a politician so publically embrace Jews.

The EU Should Stay Out of Israel’s Business

Laura: European officials need to stay out of Israel’s sovereign affairs. Israel DOES already guarantee rights to all of its citizens, but that is beside the point. It is not the business of the EU to comment on Israel’s proposed citizenship law or the demand that Israel be recognized as a Jewish state. Let the EU lecture muslim states on equal rights for all of their citizens. After all, they are the ones that persecute their non-muslim citizens and treat their women as property. And as Avigdor Lieberman stated, let the EU tend to their own messes. There is more than enough problems in their own back yard to keep them busy instead of haranguing Israel. However I blame the Israeli political leadership for being dormats in which foreign politicians feel free to beat up on the Jewish state with impunity. They need to get some self-respect and not put up with foreign interference in their sovereign affairs as well as not putting up with constant insults.

EU says Israel should guarantee rights for all citizens

By JPOST.COM STAFF

Spokeswoman for EU foreign policy chief asks for protection of minorities’ rights, saying for Israel this means “whether they are Jewish or not.”

The European Union on Tuesday urged Israel to guarantee equality for all its citizens after Prime Minister Binymain Netanyahu’s offer the previous day to continue the building moratorium in the West Bank in return for Palestinian Authority recognition of Israel as the Jewish national home, according to the AFP. The 18 soldiers officially reported killed in the blasts and 14 injured belonged to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) main missile arm, the Al-Hadid Brigades.

Canada stands tall

By David Warren, The Ottawa Citizen

There was a moment this week in which I felt very proud to be Canadian. There could be moments like that in any week, but this one was unusual for its cause. It was something done by the government, that invoked principle, and required courage. That made it something rare, to be savoured.

Pride is not always a sin, incidentally. Vainglory is sinful; conceited arrogance, very bad; the kind of pride that attempts to diminish God, downright satanic. The Greeks knew hubris as the deadliest of moral errors; Saints Gregory and Thomas rightly identified self-exalting pride as the “queen bee in the hive” of human depravities. And its vices are manifest in every kind of presumption, down to the most venial claim to be able to do something not within one’s competence. (Modern politicians make their livings on such claims.)

Bibi must sever dangerous link between ‘peace,’ and concept of Palestinian state

Netanyahu’s supreme test

Ron Breiman, YNET

The fundamental assumption underlying the diplomatic process in our region in the past 17 years is that peace in the western Land of Israel requires the establishment of a Palestinian state at the heart of Eretz Yisrael.

This assumption was expressed in the slogan “Land for peace.” Through all those years, we’d been brainwashed to believe that peace is impossible without the establishment of a Palestinian state in addition to the one east of the Jordan River. We keep on slamming our heads against the wall, as leaders of the “Right” keep walking in the Oslo footsteps while reciting the Oslo lies.

Bill O’Reilly Caves to Political Correctness…….

After appearing on the View O’Reilley interviewed Dr. Jasser and he said about Obama “I understand why the president refuses to use the words Muslim Terrorists or Islamic Terrorists, because he must deal with heads of state and wants their cooperation, like Pakistan and Saudi Arabia” In the clip below he properly states that it was Muslims who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks and then he backtracked and called them Muslim terrorists and conceded that most Muslims are fine but just those few radicals we need to deal with. (My emphasis) Later in the program he took Obama to Task for killing the use of WAR On Terror in favor of using overseas contingency.
Seems to me O’Riley either really doesn’t get it, is very confused or his Saudi bosses need to be pleased and appeased. Yamit

Selling off America

Remember when Dubai wanted to operate American ports and Bush approved only to recant after the storm of national and media protest forced him to back out? Most Americans don’t know or seem to care who owns America as long as individually they can live in the lifestyle they have grown accustomed. Yamit

by Lemon

America is busy urging Israel to give away land for peace and to take on “peace partners”. America got this way by ignoring sound principles that are the basis of living a good life and remaining successful. Principles the founding fathers took seriously. George Washington warned of foreign entanglement.

Here is the principle: “You shall not plow with an ox and an ass harnessed together” Devarim(deut).

BERJAYAIf you want to keep your nation secure and powerful you do not sell it off, give sections of it away (As Israel is doing) or hold it in low esteem. You do not take on your enemies as partners. You don’t water down your beliefs, goals or ideals by mixing them with those of others.
Germany has already bought millions of US acres . Spain administers many of our roads and Germany also owns not only most publishing firms in the US and world, it also owns and operates a majority of the US water treatment plants.
China wanted to operate our ports and now this ongoing effort to take over is rearing its head yet again:

China stakes claim to S. Texas oil, gas

“State-owned Chinese energy giant CNOOC is buying a multibillion-dollar stake in 600,000 acres of South Texas oil and gas fields, potentially testing the political waters for further expansion into U.S. energy reserves. (Read more…)

Undercutting Jewish existence was and remains the Arab endgame.

Back To Basics
by Sarah Honig

Perhaps the greatest danger to Western civilization is moral relativism. Its basic premise is that there are no truths, just opinions. Our values are invariably belittled as vested interests. What our enemies promote is invariably elevated to the stature of the authentic yearnings of downtrodden masses.

History is downgraded to mere narratives, their factual base notwithstanding. Narratives of Third World authorship (including oil-rich potentates and Muslim clerics) are accorded credence, no matter how unfounded. Opposing narratives are disdainfully trashed, no matter how solidly founded on fact.

To ignore underlying postmodern distortion when grappling with the issues of the hour is to misread the hype.

TAKE FOR instance the latest flap on settlement construction versus recognition of the right of a Jewish state to exist in the narrow strip between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean. The de rigueur rationalization is that the demand for a total moratorium on any Jewish construction in Judea, Samaria and much of Jerusalem belongs to the laudable aforementioned category of the authentic yearnings of downtrodden masses. What Ramallah proffers (as its ever-increasing price for deigning to talk) must be acceded to. (Read more…)

World against Jews: Battleground Jerusalem

by Obadiah Shoher

Presenting the conflict as Israeli-Palestinian is misleading, a classic case of what mathematicians know as the Achilles-and-the-turtle paradox of infinitely small iterations. The conflict is between Jews and the world. European powers evicted Jews from Europe, and allocated to us 0.01% of the Middle East. In fact, there were several arrangements, Jewish demands diminishing at each turn. The Balfour Declaration gave Jews a fraction of what Jews and Christians know as the Promised Land. Afterwards, the British gave away 3/4 of the Jewish land in order to accommodate a friendly Iraqi prince left without a kingdom, and thus appeared Jordan. At the time, Jews numbered a hundred times the population of the Jordanian Bedouin, but the Bedouin got three times more land. Then came the 1947 partition between the Jews and those Arabs whom even Jordan refused to take in. The Jews accepted even that, but the Arabs refused and have fought Israel over six decades. The world still wants the partition to benefit the Arabs, instead of accepting that they lost the right to the partition they fought against. The partition of Israel wouldn’t merely give Palestinians a state, but a second state in addition to the one they already have in Jordan (ethnic Palestinian Arabs are a majority in Jordan). Besides that partition, the world demands that Israel accommodate two million Arab citizens and resident aliens in what is left of Israel. (Read more…)
