Democrats Have a Dismal Record on the Deficit
I wrote an article for Human Events today about the Democrats’ broken PAYGO promise. Four years ago I listened to Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her cohorts promise to use pay-as-you-go budgeting as a way to stop deficit spending. But after looking at the their record, it is dismal. Since gaining control of Congress in 2007, Democrats have gamed, ignored or employed PAYGO on 32 occasions to justify new spending or tax increases. It all adds up to a broken promise.
