Hello, this is the place where i am going to put all the comicbooks that i collected during the years and still collecting the coming years i hope, from everywhere on the internet. I lost count but there are well over 85.000 books all together and hundreds of series.

I did not scan the comics myself i only collect from the internet what allready is scanned so all credits goes to the original uploaders which names or aliasses mostly is mentioned in one of the comicbookscans.

You can download as much as you want.

You can navigate between the different comicbooks via the menu on the right of this blog, filed under different categories.

Most of the comics are in the English language but some of them are in the Dutch language (because i am from the Netherlands).

Those in the English language you can find under different categories and those in the Dutch language you can find under Dutch comics, the really old comics you can find under Vintage Comics.

Also you will find at most posts information about the comics in that post. All this information is in most cases from Wikipedia Organisation.

Al the books are in zip files, each zip file containes a different number of books, depending on the size of each individual book.

The books are files that you can easily read with cd display reader.

These files are actually also just zipfiles but with the extension cbr in stead of rar or zip.

I reccommend to read about how to configure this player and what the possibillities are if you don’t know what this reader actually is.

All the files are stored at Rapidshare.

3. Hello Stewart, you are welcome. What i do in Rotterdam is to much for 1 lifetime. I work at a local tv station, and do some volunteerwork with children. I like to fish, kite, ride on my bike, make photographs, listen to music, play computergames, visit events and festivals. Most of the hobby’s i combine. And when i am on the internet i spend about 75% of the time working for this site.

18. I’d love to see a “Chatter” area to handle topics like Wamm_57′s “1001 COMIC BOOKS YOU MUST READ BEFORE YOU DIE !” but that would mean messing with the critical mass that Boutje has built up here. We had a meltdown a few months ago that resulted it his approving a large percentage of posts before they are posted to the comments area. Having run a clandestine Old Time Radio sharing list-serve some years ago I know how things can get out of hand. As much as I would love a discussion project I would rather keep what we have than to lose it in search of “greener pastures”.

58. In keeping with my previous requests for Archie/Radio Comics super heroes here are 3 digest-sized issues I’m looking for. Maybe emcee could track these down??

    1.) Archie’s Super Hero Comics Digest Magazine #2 — this one from 1979 features a few 60s reprints as well as some new material by Neal Adams (including cover), Dick Giordano, Al McWilliams, Gray Morrow and Chic Stone. Apparently there was no #1.

    2.) Madhouse Comics Digest #7 — circa 1981, I remember buying this one off a 7-11 spinner rack. Pureheart, Captain Hero, Captain Sprocket etc.

    3.) Archie’s Super Hero Special Digest #1 — from 1978, more 60s reprints

    The reason I asked about the title is that DCM has This Magazine is Haunted for sure and *may* have the one you want. The older titles ring a bell with me more than those that started after the 60s in the non DC/Marvel super hero lines. Have you tried Ole one-eye, the vault-2, Kaskus, or the Turkish sites?

    I don’t have ANY of the issues at all meaning that if I have run any down I didn’t even grab a sample.

69. Vintage Comics/Miscelaneous Vintage/GA Liberty Bell Collection Book 1 and 2 both have CRC errors and will not extract correctly.

70. I’ve been using a byte checked file comparison routine to spot .cbr, .cvz and .zip archive duplicates that I have found not as effective as I would like. The problem is that if an extra directory layer is added (as boutje often does) the same set of .jpg files in an archive will NOT return a positive duplicate result. This is fine about 85% of the time and better than the hand checking the whole shooting match but it will leave duplicate .jpg files on your HD and DVDs.

    If you write out the .jpgs and run the comparison with a file by file check system you will find the correct results are returned much more often. Yes it is much slower but … .

72. Hello everyone. I have a new internetconnection which is way faster than i had, in stead of about 6 gb upload in 1 night i can now upload about 10 gb in 1 night so i can fix errors more quickly also. I also keep 5 RS accounts alive to prevent that alot of the links will expire because i’ve exceeded my storagelimits. Therefore i am thinking about making a donatebutton on the site for people who want to donate, just 1 dollar will be fine allready, so i can make even more accounts and keeping my photobucketaccount alive also for al the covers. Just thougt i mention this to see how you react on this suggestion. And it’s not so that when i don’t get any donations at all the site is in trouble, it’s just a way to breathe a little easier for me not spending too many time on repairing expired links but better focus on making new ones.

    i’ll help out if i can, how much do you spend on all of your RS accounts combined? It might be ideal to look at an online hosting site and skip paying outrageous fees to rapidshare. I really like rapidshare because you can find anything on it. But permanent sites like this needs a sound storage for all files. http://www.rackspacecloud.com/?id=327 Offers some very good hosting and no band with charges on there site. If i recall it correctly they offer 15 cents a BG for storage a month and no bandwith charges for downloads of the files. Also the files never disappear even if you forget to pay your bills. I would love to help with something like this if I can. I use the online storage and it runs me around $30 a month for my 200+ gigs of audio and newspaper comic files I collect. 76. Hello Steve, thanks but i prefer to stay at Rapidshare because all my files are stored there and ik don’t like to upload everything again to another site also. I usually pay 55 euro each year for 5 accounts now so it’s 275 euro total. I know you can extend your account also with points gathered with your download but i almost never look at these. And when i do so i prefer to use the point for presents and you can also use these points now to give money to charity and i prefer that also over extending my accounts for it.

    I used to collect the Warrior comic back in the early 1980s, and didn’t complete my collection. Now I’m all grown up, I thought I would relive my teenage years and a search brought me here – where I am happily downloading all the other comics I bought over the years!

    With regards to the person wanting X-Men collections, if anyone has Torrent software and is a member at Demonoid, I have been told that the user Nerone there has done an awesome job of collecting and sorting all X-titles in chronological order.

108. I would like to see high quality scans. I would like 7×11″ scans at 200 dpi for a comics page. I spend my time “cleaning up” some issues, but sadly, many scans are so low rez that it barely makes it worth it. I’d like to have hi-rez scans so I can clean them up and have a better product than what can be bought. I use paint shop pro and use “fade correction” to get rid of yellowing and discoloration by age, color fill the white areas and word balloons with white, just to pretty them up even more, then “edge preserving smooth” to get rid of the horrid speckled coloring. Then I touch up any flaws like mis-coloring or blotches, and coloring outside the lines. I save them in uncompressed zip files. Unfortunately, the scans almost all sites have are “shrunk” to make them smaller so they upload and download faster. Anyone know where I can find such hi-rez scans?

     Just a minor note – the PayPal donation page comes up in Dutch (naturally) but that may be offputting to some internet users who may not be so familiar with using different languages.

     I am inbetween computers at the moment, but when I get my set-up and scanner working, I have a few comics I have collected over the years that I don’t see in your list, and will happily contribute what I can that way as well.

114. Hello Carlos and Wiley, that is strange, i changed the language in my profile at Paypal to be English, and sometimes it’s English indeed and the other time it’s Dutch again, the same for the donation page. I have to figure out wat causes this.
     Hmm, i noticed that when i close the internet explorer and log in again at Paypal i have to change the language again, so if i stay online with internet explorer the language stay’s English but as soon as i close internet explorer the next time the language is Dutch again and have to change it again. I have to see how i can clear this problem.

The problem with the language is still there, i changed all settings of my cookies in all different ways, changed settings at Paypal and WordPress but no result. I contacted Paypal where they send me through to the technical service and hopefully they come with a solution. 139. I still can’t get over how phenomenal this site is. I’m a 42 year old male who collected like crazy when I was a boy. Even today, I have dreams about that special day once a week when I’d go to the store and see this incredible new display of comic books that I hadn’t seen yet.

     Your site comes the closest I’ve ever come to re-living that feeling, every time I click a link and see a whole bunch of comic books that I hadn’t looked at yet. So far I’ve downloaded some Marvel Teamup, some Fawcett Captain Marvels. But by far what’s excited me the most is finding THE RAMPAGING HULK. I could never find that when I was a boy and always wanted to read it.

142. I know exactly how you feel, Richard. My Dad, when I was young, worked for a large
     convenience store chain in Ontario, Canada. I was fascinated with comics, and picked
     up as many as I could, when I could. Back in the early 1980′s I loved the Incredible
     Hulk and Fantastic Four. When I was twelve, back in ’84 I was fortunate to find
     a comic book shop in the beaches area of Toronto. I collected many comics from
     the early 1960′s. Most of them of course being the Incredible Hulk and FF. LOL

     I recall buying all of the Secret Wars and Secret Wars 2 comics years ago. I thought
     for sure they were going to be worth a lot in the future. I looked last year, and
     they’re hardly worth anything at all. An enjoyable Marvel series not worth a
     damn thing! Unbelievable! lol

     This site is wickedly amazing though. Got to give Boutje,Sparkman and the other contributors
     a lot of credit on making the site what it is today. Thanks guys!

146. Re Zero Hour

     It’s another item I would have sworn that I had stuffed some where. The Search has been running for over an hour on the HDs turning up the 100plus eps of the mid ’70s Radio Show and 4 different productions of Ray Bradbury’s Short Story but no 1994 mini series.

     did one of the crashes wipe them out???

     Unless the sub-directory is stuffed in some other folder down in the neither regions of the HD I will be heading over to 4Share as I see both english and spanish versions reported back in their search results.

     My first task will to see what upgrades I can do to the Adventure Comics section then grab fills. I will take a peek at Superman in a few days or so but not later than RSN(grin). Supes, Batman and x-men all need attention.

     Grab and send up some of the fills from Kk while I tread water with the upgrages and I’ll start fills from 500 down as there are a lot of missing 400s. We can meet in the middle some where.

161. Hello everyone, this weekend there will be no update because i am busy organising and preparing all the comics that has been contributed by alot of people the last months (around 3000 issues).
     Next month there will be 4 updates with all these comics, not necessarily in the weekends, just when i am ready with a bunch and have the time to update them, that can be every day. So if you are anxious to see what new comics there are just come look here once in awhile next month.

     Well we now know where Action 0 is (grin)Boutje ignor the upload it is under the Superman in Action Comics section.

     Maybe Boutje knows where superman v2 1-51 is a quick review is not near enough to be able to say for sure that they are truly missing. Just keep in maid after Action and the other Superman titles started being so interconnected it makes more sence to keep them all under one umbrella thus the pre crisis (if that is where the change occured) actions are in their own section while post are in the Supeman sections.

     sorting out the mini series one-shots and else-world titles will be a bear (but not as much as Batman & X-men will be).

     I suspect that the answer to one of the Superman Questions is that it is a pain for Boutje to have to put up a 1 or 3 issue update and takes us time to pull such small packages down off of RapidShare.

     Ongoing titles are going to be several months or years behind what is sitting in the comic shops. It’s the nature of such a hobby activity.

167. Thanks for the upgrades Dean. I think i just replace the issues conceirned with the upgraded ones when i find time next week. Superman v2 1-50 is not on one of my HD’s too, so i guess these are really missing because everything that is on the site is on one of my HD’s also and vv.
     Yes you can sleep in sunday morning, but you never can tell when the 1st update in may will be so better not sleep in too much the coming weeks.

     actually this type of thing helps point out the errors that I made in dating and renaming the files PLUS I can make sure that a few less fragments get passed aroung.

     Keep us in mind when you download the Kk links. In fact if you can figure out how to register with them I would like to see them copied with my upgrades. I keep trying but never seem to do the right tounge/tooth combination.

     In the post crisis triangle story arcs how often do non-core titles get jumped into (Like the Green Lantern issue in the run up to Zero Hour or return or whatever ark it happened in)?

     When re-naming and dating should the triangle numbers be included to preserve the reading order?

     Do we all agree that the various core titles should be grouped together under 1 umprella?

     I quit reading Superman around the ‘Death of’ storyline but up until then x-overs with other titles happened quite a bit, especially with the yearly multi-title x-overs like Invasion, Millennium, etc. Then there were always the little 2-issue-type x-overs like the Green Lantern one you describe or like the Doom Patrol x-over around 1987 or 88. The mid-90s was when the whole gimmicky thing got out of control and I lost interest (that and the fact everything Dan Jurgens touched was forever ruined as far as I was concerned).

Hello Dean, well i got those comics scanned today and i am uploading them now. this is my 2nd scanning attempt and i think my scanner has a mind of it’s own. everytime i go to scan something it is always different from the time before. today was no exception so these scans came out unusally large. just over 700 and 800 mgb, so i had to break each one up into parts. i am sorry to say that they are in jpeg format but i figured it would be easier to extract all the parts together to get the whole issue rather than 4 or 5 cbr/cbz’s. and you can always change the whole thing into a cbr or cbz file if you wish. i hope these turn out alright for you, i am a little freaked about the size though. i should have them uploaded and able to post here sometime tomorrow or the next day, cheers!

     What I am trying to address is the reading order of these months/year long story arks. Pre-crisis we might have an annual Flash / GL cross over with half the story in an issue of each title during the same month or a 2/3/4 issue earth 2 & 1 events etc. Maintaining a date based filing system (or at least a DB that can be addressed by date or issue number) will handle most of those. It’s the post crisis reading order that may NOT conform to an alpha sort (Action, Adventures of Superman, Superman, Superman – Man of Steal, Superman – Man of Tomorrow (I think) Did they really NEED to have 52 + issues of the story arc a year???)

     Anyway I am thinking of another data field in the nameing convention for the triangle # for Superman and Batman. Going back and adding a nul field to the 14000+ non supes/bats issues already processed can be done by automating a re-name routine,(NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. Do not try that at home (grin)) and only having the few related issues to make hand entries. It’s *almost* not re-inventing the Wheel (grin)

     Sounds like you have the rez set really high but I have a program that lets me change that if I need to. I forget now what print vs display quality is 300 and 75 sound right. Back in the days I was scaning SF Fanzines I scaned at 300 for trading but Yahoo displayed those as larger than a screen so you had to pan and scan to see the page.

     Check your settings to see if you can set a default dpi size.

     Hmmm do you mean I have to download the books 1 page at a time???

     Re: Superman Triangles
     I don’t recall a lot of non-Superman titles being looped into the triangle numbering (maybe Justice League during Death of Superman and Funeral for a Friend). However, it was common for Superman One-Shots to be given triangle numbers: Superman Y2K, Superman: Lex 2000, etc. You are correct about the 4 main titles. They were: Action, Adventures of Superman, Superman: Man of Steel, and Superman: Man of Tomorrow. Superman: Man of Twomorrow was a quarterly title. In the late 90′s, it seemed like the books had a regular schedule, and the publishers created material specifically to fill the fifth week (Silver Age, Sins of Youth, Maximum Security, etc.). Superman: Man of Tomorrow was a fifth week book and designed so a Superman book would come out every week. It was the first one cancelled around the time of Day of Judgement.

205. William Harrison :
     I always was a Superman Fan rather than a Batman fan and got sucked back in for a while in ’93 with the death thru return story arks learning about the triangles at that point. I met Mike Carlin around that time at a show and made friends with a couple of shop owners there after quickly learning these were not the comics or fandom of my youth. I have a lot or reading to do one of these days and am not as sure that I will be happy from some of the stories I have heard.

     Carlin said that the arks were plotted with two of the titles carring the main plot and the other two had various sub-plots and filled time. I asked about the Lois and Clark TV trends and he said that Warner was leaning toward a marrage if they thought that it would help the tv ratings.

     It was fun but I longed for the days hanging around the news stands and spinner racks with the gang every week when the new books were put out.

     If you have Adobe Elements or Photoshop, there are a number of solutions.
     wil help a lot. If the border is still greyish the try boosting Brightness/Contrast. You can make an ‘action’ (repeating the same adjustment) for faster processing.
     Another way is Use the dropper to sample the comic border, then slide the Lightness slider to around +80-90%

     Any scans should be made at 300dpi – anything less is a wasted effort, although 200 dpi is a much faster scan.

Hey Dean, wow i did have any idea it would take so long to download. then again it did take a while to zip it up. sorry about the long download time. and yes if you can modify the scan and make it better that i would be great. a little more user friendly or other folks i guess. hopefully soon i can do better scans, i could not find the part of the program i used when i did The Creature Of The Black Lagoon comic so i stumbled on another way and wound up with these Godzilla size scans. oh well i am glad that at least it was worth it, i hope so anyway since it took over 2 hours to download. that just blows me away and i hate that you have to go through that. well i have been picking up a few comics at the flea market and that’s where i found those to comics. if i find anymore i will buy them to scan(but maybe not quite so large next time)….sparkman.

     Not to worry … as each page is the size of 2 or 3 whole issues I actually thought it wasn’t too bad, I’m delighted to have the content. I havent’t looksed to see exactly what the res is but from the size I would guess we are looking at the difference of say an 8″x10″ old box camera vs a 110 insta-matic(grin)

     I am gearing up to take a run at the Superman titles once Boutje gets the updates caught up in May. I seem to think that there are a bunch of issues hanging fire as I have things that arn’t on the pages yet. Most likely we have seem them here already at least once.

237. For Jack who provided the link to COMIC RACK, thank you so much! This does a much better job of recreating the comic-book reading experience. Best parts to me are the ability to easily change viewing mode (single page, double page, zoomed in or out), bookmarking, and the library view with thumbnails of all comics in my collection. Actually, this is better than the Marvel Comics reader at Marvel Digital Comics.

254. Gabi – I see that there is a Scripts folder under the ComicRack folder, which is created automatically during installation. There are several sample scripts there (written in Python) as a guideline for those wishing to write their own scripts. The ComicRack website already has several very useful scripts that you can download – I highly recommend the one that imports comicbook info from ComicVine.

265. Hello everybody. I am ready with sorting and organising all the comics that have been contributed the last months. Now i’m going to prepare them for the site and make some sort of schedule for myself because there are around 3500 issues from 35 different contributors so i have to be well organised to prevent it’s going to be a bit messy when they land on the site. I think it will turn out to be 4 or possibly 5 updates for this month, this updates can come every day and sometimes maybe 2 in 1 week, that depends on my other work, but at the end of the month everything will be on the site. In the meantime keep continuing to contribute offcourse, i will collect these and they will be in official updates later this year.

Hello Dean, is it okay for you with all the sorting out that you do that i label the comics that are allready on the site and are being updated in may with just 05-2010 or May 2010, instead of all the different dates of updating ? Because i don’t know the exact date of all the updates and i do much work allready in advance for instance dating the updates, so i only have to copy and paste most of it at the day of updating.
