NoirCon Hangover: Free Redheads for the Asking

BERJAYAAt NoirCon I ran into noir fiction lover Eric Campbell, who introduced himself and told me he dug my books. Which is always cool to hear. Then he continued: "But I ought to take you outside and beat the living crap out of you." Okay, maybe those weren't his exact words, but something along those lines. Then Eric explained: he was sore that the paperback edition of The Blonde included a short story sequel ("Redhead"), and he'd already shelled out for the hardcover edition.

I was happy to tell him that a .pdf of "Redhead" was his for the asking, as it is for everyone. All you have to do is drop me a short email (duane.swier AT verizon.net) with the subject line "Send me a Redhead," and give me some small indication that you've read The Blonde. No purchase required; I just want to make sure "Redhead" won't ruin the main novel for you. Offer lasts... pretty much forever. Or until an EMP blast wipes all .pdf copies from the face of the earth.

...and then you plunged a knife into his eyeballs, screaming "Who's gonna beat the shit out of who!!??" Man that was so cool. Hey, whatever happened to the body?

I just finished reading THE REDHEAD today after reading THE BLONDE this week, and Duane is correct - don't read one without reading the other first!

GREAT story, by the way, Duane. I really loved it. I'm working on buying your other books now.

By the way, what's up with this Batman book? Looks intriguing...

Duane, any idea where and when Noir Con 2009 will be?

Ed: I don't think Lou Boxer has checked his trunk yet.

Jay W.: So glad you enjoyed it! The Batman book is an interactive mystery, very much like what I did with THE CRIMES OF DR. WATSON. More details to come...

Josephine: No word yet. Last time I saw NoirCon organizer Lou Boxer, he was being escorted into the back of a limo mutter something about not taking him alive... (?)

lol Thanks for letting me know. It's early yet. I'll keep an eye on the internet for any NoirCon 2009 news.
