"Welcome home, Sidney"
Sunday, October 17, 2010 11:50 am

The first footage from the much-anticipated sequel film Scream 4 was shown last night at the taping of the 2010 Spike Scream Awards (which I had the extreme pleasure of attending in person myself) as Wes Craven, Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Emma Roberts presented the World Premiere of a new teaser video trailer for the film. Here is our first look at that footage which — I must clarify — was not recorded by me, is filmed at an extreme angle and is presented in low quality … but still is a pretty good first look at Scream 4:

This teaser clip will be broadcast in beautiful HD on Tuesday night when the 2010 Spike Scream Awards air on Spike TV so make sure you tune in to watch. I know there are a lot of Scream fans in the hiz, so I hope you enjoy this sneak peek at the film. We get to see a lot in this first footage … it really looks like Scream 4 is kinda be all kinds of kick-ass! Woot!!

The 2010 Spike Scream Awards Are Handed Out

The biggest Fanboy FrightFest Awards Show gets even BIGGER
Sunday, October 17, 2010 11:40 am

Spike TV held its annual Scream Awards at the Greek Theater in Hollywood, CA last night and they managed to get some of the biggest names in Hollywood to come out and party with the fanboys. From Sir Anthony Hopkins to Halle Berry, comic legend Bill Murry to director Christopher Nolan — the iconic Sigourney Weaver … the 2010 Spike Scream Awards were a Who’s Who of the biggest names in Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Comic Books, Horror, Video Games, TV, Movies and MORE! Here are some of the folks who strutted their stuff on the red carpet last night along with some spoilery deets from Access Hollywood about what went down at last night’s taping of the Spike Scream Awards (which won’t air until Tuesday October 19):

Ghouls and goblins… Fanboys and freaks… Not to mention, huge stars including Halle Berry, Kristen Stewart, James Cameron, Megan Fox, Mickey Rourke and Michael J. Fox… They all were out in full force for Spike TV’s 5th Annual “SCREAM 2010” awards on Saturday night at the Greek Theatre nestled deep in the woods of LA’s Griffith Park. More than just a frightfest, this still young event has become an awards show for the Comic-Con crowd – honoring sci-fi fare like nomination-leading film “Inception” and TV’s “Lost,” as well as the more expected genre nominees like “A Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Zombieland.” The atmosphere was nothing short of inspired. Fans were all dressed up as their favorite characters. The elaborate “Inception”-designed stage was accented by a giant replica of the film’s famous spinning top. A giant full moon (at times becoming a circular saw or the “Back to the Future” watchtower clock) dominated the backdrop. The presenter platforms were circled by gargoyles spitting fire from their mouths and the trophy ladies were dressed as Natalie Portman’s character in the upcoming “Black Swan.” The evening began with Halle Berry in a shiny mini-dress, introducing the night’s most nominated project, “Inception.” Director Christopher Nolan was on hand to accept on behalf of the dream-bending film’s six wins for the night. In true Comic-Con fashion, some of the most anticipated films of the upcoming year used the night to introduce first looks at footage. Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Emma Roberts and Wes Craven were on hand to world premiere the first footage of “Scream 4,” which drew a huge fan reaction. Other first look world premieres included: “Paranormal Activity 2,” Rainn Wilson on hand to present “Super,” AMC’s new original series “The Walking Dead,” Anthony Hopkins on hand to present “The Rite,” new footage from “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows,” and new scenes from the upcoming DVD release of “Avatar.” The biggest crowd reaction of the night came when Bill Murray came out in a Ghostbusters costume (accompanied by Ray Parker Jr.‘s famous theme song) to accept on behalf of “Zombieland” for its win for Best Horror Film. “It’s all I had that was clean,” he declared to an ecstatic crowd. Reunions were also a big theme for the evening. David Spade introduced Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox, who were on hand to promote the 25th anniversary re-release of the “Back to the Future” trilogy. The film’s famous DeLorean even made an appearance … Other highlights of the night included James Cameron introducing a special award to Sigourney Weaver (who emerged from a giant “Alien” egg)… a music video from Break.com featuring Seth Green, Stan Lee and Katee Sackhoff called “Geek & Gamer Gurls,” set to the tune of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls”… And the best line of the night, which came courtesy of Sarah Silverman: “I just met Megan Fox backstage and she should totally be in Eli Roth’s next movie…. But even if she’s not, I hope she gets tortured and decapitated anyways.”

Since I was lucky enough to attend the Scream Awards last night, I got to watch all of the awesomeness unfold live on stage … and I had a blast. You must tune in Tuesday night to watch … this year’s Spike Scream Awards is by far the best one yet … and it only promises to keep getting better! If you can’t wait for Tuesday to see some of the memorable moments from the 2010 Spike Scream Awards, you can check out some photos from the show — after the jump …

My Saturday Night Was A ‘Scream’

The TV Guide
Sunday, October 17, 2010 11:21 am

Last night I was graciously invited to attend the 2010 Spike Scream Awards which were taped at the Greek Theater here in Hollywood, CA and I have to tell you, I had a really fantastic time. Some award shows are just more trouble than they are worth … the red carpet can be a bit of a nightmare and sometimes the staging and production are pretty lame … not so of the Scream Awards this year:

BERJAYA
The Spike Scream Awards are still kinda new so the show hasn’t gotten too big and, therefore, unfun. This year, Spike managed to get some of THE biggest names in Hollywood to attend … making for not only a really fun awards show but THE best Spike Scream Awards yet. After the jump, check out some of the photos that I snapped on the red carpet last night …

I understand that the young Master Andreas is new to modeling but I’d say, based on just this photo alone, he is off to a great start. There are many things I love about my home State of Michigan, not the least of which is its natural beauty … as you can see, we grow ‘em nice and fine in the Wolverine State. Enjoy!!

Jake Gyllenhaal Attends The Opening Of The First Edible Schoolyard In Brooklyn, NY

I've never been SO JEALOUS of an apple before IN MY LIFE
Sunday, October 17, 2010 10:38 am

The insanely hot Jake Gyllenhaal attended the official opening of Brooklyn, NY’s first ever Edible Schoolyard at P.S. 216 on Friday afternoon. Here are a few photos of Jake munching on an apple that was grown in the schoolyard and some deets about the program at P.S. 216:

BERJAYA

P.S. 216 is giving its students a rare learning opportunity and a chance to pick up some culinary skills along the way. The Brooklyn school is the first New York affiliate of the “Edible Schoolyard Program.” The school will start offering gardening and cooking classes with the use of a garden and a state of the art kitchen. Christiane Baker of the Edible Schoolyard NYC said kids from kindergarten to fifth grade will learn how to grow their own produce and prepare nutritious meals using food from the garden. “We have the power to help eradicate the childhood obesity epidemic and it’s programs like Edible Schoolyard NYC that are working to do just that,” Baker said. Edible Schoolyard plans to expand the program in more than 25 schools in Brooklyn. The organization also plans to create an edible academy in each of the five boroughs.

Firstly, how amazing does this Edible Schoolyard sound? What an inventive way to teach kids that healthy eating can be fun. I love everything about this program and cannot wait for it to expand to the rest of the boroughs of NYC. Here’s hoping that programs like this can spread out across the US in an effort to teach kids healthy eating habits early on.

But let’s get back to Jake … I mean, are you kidding me with these photos? Is it just me or does Jakey poo make eating an apple look incredibly sexy? I mean … yeah … he’s not doing anything other than eating an apple just the the rest of us would but … there’s something about the way he does it. Le sigh. Le swooooon! After the jump, check out a couple photos of Jake posing with the children and city officials who came out for this opening event on Friday …
