Alumnae compete in Bravo's 'The Fashion Show'


Two Woodbury University fashion design alumnae will be featured among 12 designers in the new season of Bravo's "The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection," with fashion icon Iman and internationally acclaimed designer Isaac Mizrahi. Golnessa Farmanara  and Cindy Ayvar began their fashion collaboration here at Woodbury, working  together on studio projects while honing their skills in fashion design. Both  graduated in 2004, and since then have been building their contemporary womenswear company, GoCi, all the while remaing best friends. Woodbury is proud to have them among our prestigious alumni. More

Sue Vessella earns 2010 Dora Kirby Award


Sue Vessella, associate dean of Woodbury University's School of Media, Culture & Design and chair of graphic design, will be honored with the 2010 Dora Kirby Award on Tuesday, October 12. The Dora Kirby award, named in honor of the university's former president, is presented annually to to a person who has achieved long-term success and made outstanding service contribution to Woodbury and the public. Vessella is an award winning graphic designer specializing in corporate identity and environmental graphics who has designed promotional material for numerous companies including NBC Sports, The Los Angeles Zoo, Orion Pictures, The City of Beverly Hills, and Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino.  More

Woodbury launches
digital media degrees

Woodbury University has been awarded a $3.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Hispanic-Serving Institutions program to establish new bachelor’s degree programs in digital film making, media technology, and game design. Internship and career services programs also will be developed over the course of the five-year grant to support student success.
