With Friends Like These in the White House

BERJAYA Senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett refers to being gay as a "lifestyle choice."

And in other two-faced news of the day, the Fierce Advocate is preparing to defend DADT. The Obama DOJ will appeal the Federal Judge's ruling that found Don't Ask, Don't Tell to be blatantly unconstitutional.

But aren't you glad a Democrat is in the White House?

Georgia Dem's Ad Bashes Hippies & Pelosi (Video)

Here's another very good reason to vote for none of the above. So why does this hippie and Pelosi bashing Republican-wannabe even call himself a Dem? The confused or alleged Democrat brags: "Does not support Pelosi...voted with GOP 65% of the time."

Judge Shuts Down Enforcement of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

BERJAYA Woo-hoo! A woman -- U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips -- has issued an injunction ending enforcement of the barbaric and unconstitutional Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy. The judge ordered the Defense Department "immediately to 'suspend and discontinue any investigation, or discharge, separation, or other proceeding' related to the policy."

"DADT is no longer the law of the land," said Judge Virginia Phillips. The ball is in the Obama Admin court.

The Obama DOJ can appeal and defend the odious policy of overt discrimination. Or President Obama can do the right thing and thank Judge Virginia Phillips for doing what he should have done.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A federal judge issued a worldwide injunction Tuesday stopping enforcement of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, ending the military's 17-year-old ban on openly gay troops.

'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Activists Protest Obama From Land, Air And Sea In Miami

BERJAYA While President Obama spoke at a Miami residence, where attendees paid $5,000 to $18,000 to get in the door, the gay activists of GetEqual protested outside on the street with 10-foot signs reading: “End the Discharges Now” and “We’ll Give When We GetEQUAL:”

Since Mourning's mansion abuts the bay, GetEqual also launched three boats containing activists equipped with signs and bullhorns, which they used to shout chants during president's speech. Additionally, they released into the air four "cloud buster" balloons with 10-foot-long banners reading "GetEQUAL.org" that had been tethered to the sides of the boats.

The Social Network: Another Male-Centric Movie Where Women are "Prizes"

BERJAYA The Social Network is reportedly a good movie as long as you can stomach seeing women portrayed as less than fully human things there to service men in bathrooms, or as the film's screenwriter Aaron Sorkin describes them, "the women are prizes."

It's not like we aren't used to films that depict women as sub-human prizes for the fully human half of the species, still this is pretty damn low for the creator of West Wing. Stephen Colbert can't be the only one to marvel at this portrayal of Harvard women.

Melissa Silverstein describes the "prizes":

The film depicts a world where women are crazy groupies, there for amusement, to give you blow jobs in bathrooms at parties, and to snort coke off of, but not to be taken seriously.

And from Rebecca Davis O'Brien:

[The women] "are less prizes than they are props, buxom extras literally bussed in to fill the roles of doting groupies, vengeful sluts, or dumpy, feminist killjoys. They are foils for the male characters, who in turn are cruel or indifferent to them."

Bob Woodward: Obama-Hillary Ticket 'On the Table'

BERJAYA Veteran reporter and longtime Washington insider Bob Woodard says President Obama could use Hillary Rodham Clinton's help in 2012. And Obama knows it. According to Woodward, the White House is discussing it:

"It's on the table," veteran Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward told CNN's John King in an interview Tuesday on John King, USA. "Some of Hillary Clinton's advisers see it as a real possibility in 2012." . . "President Obama needs some of the women, Latinos, retirees that she did so well with during the [2008] primaries and, so they switch jobs, not out of the question, and the other interesting question is, Hillary Clinton could run in her own right in 2016 and be younger than Ronald Reagan when he was elected president."

Craven Tennessee Firefighters Let Family Home Burn Down

BERJAYA Don't look for any heroes in Obion County, Tennessee. There are no Christians there either, apparently. There are, however, a whole lot of monsters who call themselves Republicans. Republicans who subscribe to the sad dog-eat-dog conservative philosophy of making government small enough to drown in a bathtub.

Firefighters in Obion County, Tennessee let a house burn to the ground because the home owners didn't pay a yearly subscription fee. The brave and valiant firefighters actually stood by and watched the house burn down. No thanks to the men (sic) of Obion County, there were no casualties, other than the reputation of Obion County, Tennessee:

A local newspaper further pressed Mayor Crocker about the city’s policy, which has been in place since 1990. Crocker, a Republican who was elected in 2008 and serves with a county commission where every seat is also filled by a Republican, likened the policy to buying auto insurance. The paper said he told them that, after all, “if an auto owner allowed their vehicle insurance to lapse, they would not expect an insurance company to pay for an unprotected vehicle after it was wrecked.”

Number of Women In U.S. Congress Expected to Decline

BERJAYA As if being tied with Turkmenistan (at #73 in the world) for the number of women in Congress isn't effing bad enough, women are predicted to lose ground in the midterms:

The most-talked about Republican candidates this season may be women, but it figures to be a tough election season for female incumbents: Independent analysts are predicting that the number of women in Congress will drop for the first time in three decades. There are, currently, 56 Democratic and 17 Republican women in the House, and 13 Democratic and 4 Republican women in the Senate. A dozen incumbent congresswomen and four female senators are locked in tough races; David Wasserman at the Cook Political Report expects an overall decline of women in Congress of five to 10 seats.

CNN's Rick Sanchez Calls Jon Stewart ‘A Bigot’; Says Jews Rule Media

BERJAYA Rick Sanchez has a serious case of 'my minority group is more oppressed than your minority group' and is trying his best to end his career, or so it seems with this on-air flame-out. After calling Jon Stewart a bigot (I mean why else would Jon Stewart criticize Rick Sanchez???), Sanchez dug the hole deeper by saying so what if Stewart is a Jew? . . . the media is run by Jews and Jews aren't exactly an oppressed minority.

It sounds like Sanchez has a really bad case of prime time envy, or maybe the man just desperately needs a vacation.

Michigan's Anti-Gay Cyber-Bully Andrew Shirvell Suspended

BERJAYA UPDATE: Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox 's office "said this morning that media reports saying Cox suspended Shirvell were inaccurate." Shirvell merely took a "voluntary leave of absence." AG Mike Cox apparently condones Shirvell's criminal behavior and so needs to be 'fired' too.

Michigan's anti-gay cyber-bully Assistant Attorney General Andrew Shirvell has been suspended. This after calls for the clearly mentally disturbed bully to be fired came in from all over the country.

Pity the State of Michigan for the damage done to its image. I'm just glad Andrew Shirvell doesn't reside in Tennessee. A suspension is a start, but the deranged man needs to be fired and signed up for some serious therapy and meds.

Assistant Attorney General Andrew Shirvell has been banned from the University of Michigan campus since mid September. That's got to be a first. The University has a problem with stalkers and bullies. Who knew? Chris Armstrong (known to Shirvell as “Satan’s representative on the Student Assembly”) has filed for a restraining order and will be in court for the hearing on Monday.

Sign the petition for Andrew Shirvell to be fired.

Two Male Senators Block Women's History Museum

BERJAYA Sens. Tom Coburn and Jim DeMint are blocking the realization of the long-held dream of a National Women's History Museum.

The men's excuses include: 1) Women might someday in the future ask for money for the museum. 2) Some of the women involved in the project might be pro choice. 3) Women already have a Quilters Hall of Fame in Indiana and a National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Texas so what more do we want?

Anyone who knows even a glimmer of women's history is painfully aware that the U.S. Congress has a very long history of devaluing women and suppressing all recognition and knowledge of women's history.

In this must-see video clip, Meryl Streep summarizes the problem, donates a million dollars to the National Women's History Museum and doubts that "those two senators who have put a hold on our museum have the stomach for a war with the women of America."

NOW to Deliver 1,500 Baby Bottle Nipples to Alan Simpson of Catfood Commission

BERJAYA The National Organization for Women (NOW) will be delivering 1,500 baby bottle nipples to big-mouthed former Sen. Alan Simpson of the Catfood Commission today. (See the petition for Simpson's removal from Obama's infamous Catfood Commission over there in the sidebar.)

NOW calls the project: "Tits for an Ass."

NOW announced Tuesday it will head to Capitol Hill to deliver 1,500 baby bottles nipples to Simpson on Wednesday, before the next meeting of the commission on which Simpson serves as co-chairman. . . Several liberal lawmakers and activist groups, including NOW, last month called on Obama to remove Simpson from his post after he wrote an e-mail to a leader of a women's group calling Social Security "a milk cow with 300 million tits."

Quote of the Day

BERJAYA No surprise, lots of women haven't recovered from 2008:

If you read no other part of Traister’s book, read the chapter, The Boys on the Bus, about the shit liberal women had to listen to from their friends and boyfriends—the heretical nature of Hillary Clinton’s primary campaign and their implication in allowing their gender agenda to interfere with the world-altering candidacy of the man who was “the bomb.” As soon as Traister sent out an inquiry about bad behavior, her email inbox filled to capacity. Even the Obama supporters in her female cohort began “calling me out of earshot of their Obama-loving boyfriends,” to complain bitterly about the sexism of their significant others, to say nothing of the “hours” the women who even veered to neutral “spent... defending Clinton.” I was interested at the number of female reviewers who worried that Traister’s book would cause them to experience post-traumatic stress disorder and flash back to those gender-conflicted months.

. . . if the Gallup polls are right, the Democrats may get a chance to see what it’s like to run for office when women are staying home.
