In a New York Times article published yesterday, Obama revealed how he’s going to spin his disappointing first two years and massive midterm defeat:
“Given how much stuff was coming at us, we probably spent much more time trying to get the policy right than trying to get the politics right. There is probably a perverse pride in my administration — and I take responsibility for this; this was blowing from the top — that we were going to do the right thing, even if short-term it was unpopular. And I think anybody who’s occupied this office has to remember that success is determined by an intersection in policy and politics and that you can’t be neglecting of marketing and P.R. and public opinion."
So the problem isn’t bad policy, it’s just poor communication about good policy? If that were true, why was the chief of staff booted and not the press secretary?
What’s on your mind tonight?

JUAN GONZALEZ: And what you’ve done on the ProPublica website is you’ve taken both decisions, the original one that was pulled within a day and then the new one, and done a line-by-line analysis of the changes in the—in the enormous changes in what the judge wrote?” ; is this what you mean by “by an intersection in policy and politics” Mr.President?
Good point. lol. Maybe this is an example of finding comfort in illusions.
This tells you exactly what the Obama group thought was important throughout the election cycle before they won. It wasn’t policy. It was the marketing. The actual policy, and actions to follow through, don’t matter one whit. Even two years into this fake “Presidency,” with the failures piling up around them, and the American people, they still think it’s all about marketing.
Seriously, is this what that idiot Axelrod whispers in Barry’s ear every day, right before he heads out to his fake Town Halls and Fund Raisers? Just pathetic.
The president has missed the point about why the democratic party has the blues. He appealed to the ” Better Angels of the natures of the American people.” He thought folks with government paid health care, i.e. everybody over 65 and those with employer subsidized health care would be happy to pay one cent extra to help those who weren`t so lucky. Most enjoy the fact that The Almighty has blessed them with His Bounty because of their goodness and punishes the un-insured for their sloth and wickedness. Only two things motivate 65% of all people, fear of crime,i.e. blacks and fear of the Chineeze, our new enemy of the day. The average mid term voter knows as much about the causes of our troubles as he does about the Higgs Bozon or the cube root of nine. No liberal nanny nagging will ever make this group give a damn. It took Bull Conner`s police dogs ripping the rear ends off civil rights marchers to bring them around to worrying about segregation. It is time our author of ,: The Audacity of Hope,” read my book,” The futility of public altruism,” or as my hero Uncle John said in one of his few sober moments, ” The working class can kiss my ass, I`ve got the foreman`s job.”
