This meeting will be the fourth and final session of the International Renewable Energy Agency's (IRENA) Preparatory Commission. This workshop will discuss clean coal technologies and policy to improve the efficiency of coal-fired electricity generation and carbon capture and storage (CCS), concentrating on the particular circumstances of the Russian Federation. The World Meterological Organization (WMO) is hosting the Third Lead Authors Meeting for the Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation (SREX) for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Submitted comments to the the SREX Expert Review, which took place from 26 July-20 September 2010, will serve as the basis for discussions.
