Rockets find quicksand in Utah
Hello all,
aarrrgg!! what can I say, stupid Utah, stupid Jazz, stupid basketball!! Yes, yes, the Rockets lost 81-67 dispite a decent outing by Yao and TMAC. Bleck!! forget it, just watch this and you’ll know the sequence of emotion I went through during the game last night.
Hopefully they can do better (win!) on Saturday. Rockets are up 2-1 in this seven game series.

Let’s go Rockets!!
(clap-clap, clap-clap-clap)
That’s right, hello all. It’s all about the NBA playoffs now and the Houston Rockets are kicking butt. They make it look ugly but they’re still getting it done. Houston is the 5th seed in the Western Conference but since they finished with the 4th best record have home court advantage. Boy has it helped. Utah is barely a .500 team on the road and even though they beat the Rockets at Toyota center during the regular season, the playoff are a whole different story. Not even Boozer’s 41 pts could stop the dynamic duo of Yao (27 pts/9 reb) and Tracy(31 pts/10 reb). But if I had to pick a player of the game for game 2, it had to Chuck Hayes (12 pts/12 reb). Baby Chuckie (reference to Sir Charles Barkley) is tenacious, going after every rebound and playing some mean defense. Every teams need a player who might have minimal skill but has maximum heart and gives 200% effort. That’s Hayes.
So, the Rockets are up 2-0 (84-75W, 98-90W) in the series which now moves to Utah on Thursday. In other series, I can’t believe that Dallas(1) and San Antonio(2) were upset _at_ home in their first games. How cool would it be if one of these teams fell in the first round? Hmm… if the Rockets move on, they will face the winners of Dallas/Golden State. I don’t like Dallas but I don’t know if I’d like to face either of these teams. Anyways, here is the entire playoff bracket from ESPN.com.

Special Refresh Houston/Wordpress Meetup
Hello all,
Yesterday there was a impromtu and special Refresh Houston/Wordpress Meetup at Stags Head. Why? Because the most important Matt online was in town. That’s right, Matt Mullenweg, former houston resident and Creater, Lead Developer of Wordpress (The blogging software/CMS this site and all of my other sites use). It was a great evening with about 30-35 bloggers, developers, programmers in show. I got to plug the Houston Wordpress Meetup group and Astrocast - The Houston Astros fan based blog and podcast. Unfortunately, I was the only idiot without a camera, so no pictures, sorry. But overall I think everyone had lots of fun. Thanks to Erica for organizing the event and coaxing Matt to do this meetup.
For those who are wondering about the regular Wordpress Meetup, it is still happening this Saturday at 2PM at the Mucky Duck. Go visit the Houston Wordpress Meetup and RSVP. You need to join the group to RSVP or just show up, it’s free and always fun.
