After a week of kids at home due to bronchitis... I am desperate for adult interaction. In the meantime, I will console myself with ( photos of Michael Pitt... )Mon, Jan. 31st, 2005, 03:33 pm
I was sent an announcement off danielash.org that Bauhaus was playing at "COACHELLA", and once at the site I spent about 5 minutes just trying to find out what STATE the event was in. Good grief, people, must you be so elitist as to not list the goddamn STATE on the event info page? (It's in CA, btw.) Thu, Jan. 27th, 2005, 10:59 am
Sure would like these for Valentine's Day. Plus the matching bra, although a 36D with that type of strap would be like trying to hold up boulders with dental floss. Mon, Jan. 24th, 2005, 08:00 pm
Fridge poetry sampling from my wee ones. Not quite sure from where they get such literary gifts... ( More snaps of my sister... ) Mon, Jan. 24th, 2005, 01:09 pm Honk if you like snapshots!

"Tenderness" General Public "Stand & Deliver" Adam & the Ants "Twilight Zone" Golden Earring Almost in a row and all before 9AM on VH1 Classic, well worth that extra $3 on my cable bill. Followed up with "Cabaret" on HBO and such a dreamy morning. Tue, Jan. 11th, 2005, 05:15 pm

I had breakfast (fruit plate and coffee at Empire Cafe) with a super deluxe friend from high school this morning. Delightfully unawkward but remorsefully short, as he's a designer for Oakley and had to be on his way to put more eyewear on crunky rap stars. He asked why I don't "do art" any more, and somehow when that question came from him I felt almost ashamed and couldn't even hand off some vague excuse that trails into a sigh. *shrug* Tired? Bored? Distracted? Muse walked out? I dunno. Certainly not due to housekeeping duties. /end of transmission/ Mon, Jan. 10th, 2005, 11:50 am
"White Noise". Has anyone seen it yet? I really really want to but... okay, here's the thing.. the embarassing childish thing... ghosts communicating with me scares me silly. Sun, Dec. 5th, 2004, 10:10 am
If you have kids on your Xmas list, do yourself a favor and buy them the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie Soundtrack. Wait! I'm serious and totally unbiased toward the bands (Prince Paul, Wilco, Flaming Lips, The Shins, Dust Brothers, Motorhead, etc), as my kids have worn the cd out in a week. (Of course, these were the kids who, at a karaoke party last night, didn't recognize Britney/Lizzie McGuire/Cheetah Girls crap and asked if they had Spongebob or Elvis, so your results may vary.) "SpongeBob, let me ask you something: Does this look dangerous?" Sat, Dec. 4th, 2004, 08:58 pm
Have you been to people's homes which look just like model homes, or like furniture showrooms? Everything placed just so, coordinating hues, little kids but no handprints on the walls? I just came back from such a place and found myself a bit overwhelmed by the middle class-ness of it all. Safe to say I have the messiest, most disorganized and underdecorated house on the suburban block and I know most people aren't as slovenly as myself, but isn't there some amount of comfort in a bit of chaos? Plus the place had a MILLION Glamour Shots type portraits of the kid everywhere, totally over the top. Five fully decorated, color coordinated Xmas trees too. I bought a fake white one from Walmart this year and one of those colorchanging lights and it makes me happy in a John Waters sort of way. Not a decorated like a department store kinda way. Going to go watch a season of "OZ" and wipe that Macy's scene out of my tired head... Skinny Irish bad boys in tank tops... can I get a witness? Wed, Dec. 1st, 2004, 09:07 am
This morning I awoke to find - literally- frost on the pumpkin, with a forecast of 62 for most of the week. Hooray for winter in Houston, when I can finally wear a full length faux fur for a cumulative of one week. Meanwhile, typing topless as the shower runs for a half hour behind me, I think of the Smith's song: A dreaded sunny day So let's go where we're wanted And I meet you at the cemetery gates Keats and Yeats are on your side But you lose because Wilde is on mine and a google search turns up this somewhat disturbing image of the Moz dexterously fingering this wattle: Mon, Nov. 29th, 2004, 06:31 pm What's that smell?
What's grosser than gross? How about finally doing four days worth of dishes, then reaching into the dishwasher hours later to discover a horribly noxious odor with no obvious origin. THEN using a few glasses out of said dishwasher load, returning to unload the dishwasher and then... THEN...
... finding two pinky mice stuck in the dishwasher drain. To say "GAG!" is an understatement. I suppose I defrosted several, only used a few and dumped the cup of water the remaining ratite corpses were floating in the sink thoughtlessly. Now if I could only isolate and dispose of whatever's making that smell in the fridge... Mon, Nov. 15th, 2004, 09:40 pm Of interest to Coil/Psychic TV/Current 93 fans...

So, I had a pleasant photo session with a NYU grad photographer last week with my portrait to (hopefully) be featured with other er, *colorful* Texans. (This is a test shot for makeup check, I was too heavy on the matte as usual and it over texturizes my face. However, I have finally mastered the art of drawing on my brows, with Benefit's wax pigment being the most fab product I've used.) Mon, Nov. 15th, 2004, 06:58 pm
I'm sure to be paying for her therapy over this Kodak moment.... Fri, Oct. 1st, 2004, 04:41 pm
