There, we queried their head honchos about their biggest tips for tightening their financial waistlines. Read More »
Did you know that it's illegal to host your own private server for your favorite massively multiplayer online game? OK, maybe it's not a big deal if it's just you and a few buddies flying under the radar, but in a recent ruling, the United States District Court found in favor of Blizzard when the latter sued an outfit called Scapegaming for hosting private World of Warcraft servers for profit. Scapegaming had something like 40,000 users a day, though, so I think your buddy's basement is still safe for the time being. Read More »

With the November release of Call of Duty: Black Ops close at hand, developer Treyarch is in the unenviable (and oh-so-familiar) position of following up a hugely successful Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty game with one of their own. However, now that Infinity Ward has been all but dismantled by the powers-that-be at Activision, the team behind Call of Duty: Black Ops has more flexibility to experiment with the multiplayer formula. How players react to the recently revealed changes once they finally get to play (sorry, still no word on a beta) will likely shape the future of the franchise. Going hands-on with Black Ops at a recent press event finally offered an in-depth look at what appears to be one of the most addictive multiplayer games of the year. Love it or hate it, change is coming to Call of Duty. Read More »
OK, so I don't know why they decided to take an awesome PlayStation 3 game and stick it on the PSP, but -- apart from somewhat de-resolution-ified graphics -- Valkyria Chronicles II brings back all the fantastic elements of the first game, and adds a helluva lot on top of that. PSP fans, rejoice: This is one of the best tactical role-playing games ever made, for any system. Again. Read More »
