General David Petraeus was testifying to the Senate Armed Services hearing on Afghanistan this morning, and while listening to a question by Senator John McCain (R-AZ), the commander of the United States Central command passed out. Reports later said that he was suffering from dehydration and replenished with water and bananas. Video from ABC News below:
ABC’s Luis Martinez and Z. Byron Wolf report:
While testifying at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Afghanistan, Gen. David Petraeus, commander of the US Central Command, passed out at the witness table.
Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, was in the middle of praising Petraeus for his efforts in Afghanistan when the four star general appears to have briefly passed out. The C-Span camera in the room was focused on McCain at the time, a soft rumpling noise could be heard as McCain looked surprised. The feed then went to a high shot from the back of the room. Someone could be overheard quietly saying “Oh my God” as several staffers rushed to help him.
Despite the dire look of the situation, less than 30 seconds later, Petraeus walked away from the table escorted by staffer.

Joe Biden On Barton: ‘Incredibly Insensitive And Out Of Touch’ (VIDEO)

Rep. Joe Barton has since apologized for the 'apology'...twice. The second apology reportedly being the result of House Republican leaders threatening to "strip of his ranking member status on a key committee Thursday" if he did not immediately do so. Ah bi-partisanship. When asked about the remarks at a briefing earlier today, Vice President Joe Biden, head in hands jokingly said "since you know I never say what's on my mind" before getting serious.
Exclusive Video: It Takes a Small Person to be Outraged by BP Chair’s ‘Small People’ Remark

In the aftermath of yesterday's epic meeting between President Obama and BP executives, the media have been obsessing over BP Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg's "small people" remark. Sure, it was a little comical, but are people really outraged about this? Of all the reasons to be angry at BP, I don't understand the logic in focusing on the only remotely adorable thing they've done.

I saw this live (the FNC video not the hearing) a little while ago.
The General returned thirty minutes later prepared to continue. His first comment was to Senator McCain that it was not his question that made him faint. The Chair then postponed the hearing.
I hope that that is the end of it and there is not some underlying cause for the dehydration.
God bless that man and all whom he leads..
Get well soon, Sir! You are in my prayers.
Wow. That was scary. Get well soon , General.
I hope it’s not something serious. I agree with Grammie, on that I hope this isn’t a sign of an underlying cause.
Gen. Petreaus is doing a fine job and I hope this doesn’t hurt his ability to serve.
My prayers are with you as well, sir.
Let’s never forget how the SOB’s from the left attacked this fine American with their bogus “General Betrayus” claims.
WhoIs..I’ll never forget that..
Yikes, that is so scary! I hate to see those kinds of things! I hope he is ok.
Let’s hope McCain just lulled him to sleep….
