For years, Mario has participated in sports like golf and baseball. However, one day the characters of SSB decided to play a game of baseball, and something went wrong. What could have possibly gone wrong with Mario's skill in playing baseball? Here's an excerpt:
On a sunny day in the land of Smash, a group of Smashers gathered to play a good, timely sport that was baseball. Among the ones that would play in a team was Mario, Donkey Kong, Ness, Peach, and Link. The other team that would go against them was Luigi, King Dedede, Wario , Pit, and Mr. Game and Watch. They met at a baseball diamond out in a field, and then the game was on.
"Batter up!" called Pit as the pitcher.
Mario came up to the plate with a wooden bat in his gloves. Donkey Kong stood behind the plate as the umpire, wearing the helmet, face mask, and baseball glove. The others waited for their turn from the dugout nearby.

The funny Brawl series returns for the ninth time. This is a unique compilation of the humorous side of Brawl, titled "Outrageous Occurrences." The Fantastic Finishes in this video were either done intentionally, not close enough, or requested to be excluded from the regular series. Also thrown into the mix are funny mid-Brawl scenes and contrived events.

As the Great Fox ship flew through Corneria, a Brawl broke out on its deck. Falco, Mario, and Sonic (me) were up against the wild claws of a hungry Wolf who wanted to eliminate them one by one, starting with the hedgehog. Whatever caused this need to hunt down prey was deep-rooted. Look out! Wolf will fray for prey!
It's time for us to go into the world of the IGN boards to see what interesting discussion is going on! This week, the discussion from the boards I am featuring is: Who was the first character that you used in the SSB series? You can see some quotes from this topic below:

Lucas and Ness (me) are extraordinary young psychics. Their PK-based powers pack quite a punch even when they don't even throw actual punches. The mind games they play in this Brawl get pretty interesting, especially when Peach and Link are thrown into the mix. The winner of the mind games will be the winner of the Brawl.
Thanks to tarextherex, who sent this video to me, we have a brand new Brawl video for you. In this video, you'll see a series of both epic fails and KOs in Brawl, showing the best of both worlds.
Do you dislike the usage of "friend codes" to play online with the Wii and DS? Well, even Nintendo is unsatisfied with this method of online play, according to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, and they are working at ways to improve online play.
These comments came during a question and answer session with various analysts in response to a question about why New Super Mario Bros. Wii had no online play, with the response being, "I think that [Miyamoto's] decision on whether or not to include online functionality with New Super Mario Bros. Wii was based on the idea that the true value of that product was going to be determined not by online functionality, but on how compelling and unique the experience would be for two, three or four people to be able to play that game together in the same room."
According to Iwata, including online play in a game is only done when appropriate and on a case-by-case basis, with him saying, "[...We will] make a decision as to whether or not it's more important to devote resources to making that offline experience more fun and compelling for products where that is going to be the most important element of the game play; and then for products where it is going to be more important, to add online functionality and make that online functionality robust and compelling." While he did admit that Nintendo's online strategy was lagging behind the strategy of Microsoft and Sony, he also said that Nintendo's ability to to deliver a quality offline experience was one of the company's strengths, which is why online play is only done on a case-by-case basis.
