At the other extreme is the Italian poster that showed a woman's legs hanging over the edge of a pool table, with blood running down one of them. Turns out the image was taken from a scene that wasn't in the final cut of the movie. I think some stills of the scene were included on the Blue Velvet DVD, but no footage.

Well, I guess if the object of this was to strip the film of any sense of mood or menace, they did an admirable job.
