BERJAYA
Ron Zacapa Centenario Sistema Solera 23
An awesome rum - winner of a Platinum medal and ranked in First Place by the prestigious Beverage Tasting Institue in Chicago, with a whopping 97 points. Interestingly, now that industry giants Diageo are distributing Zacapa, the '23 years old' age statement has suddenly been dropped and replaced with a somewhat more plausible claim - the rums used are aged between 6 and 23 years old and are blended together in a solera.

My favorite rum. Absolutely top class! Posted By: Stefan

The 15 y.o. was an excellent rum. This eclipses it utterly! Also blows away Appleton 21 and Havana Club 15 (and Plantation 1998, although that's a golden, rather than dark). The best rum I've drunk, and excellent value. Well worth its 97, 98, whatever points.

Tremendous.... What else can be said about a rum that isn't allowed enter anymore tasting competitions because it tastes too good?!! Posted By: Dandy

This is the BEST rum I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. Before this, I was partial to the best of Flor De Cana 21, and Appleton 21. But no more! Purchased a bottle in Antigua, Guatemala, and will look for more! Posted By: Steve

Is this better than Ron Zacapa Centenario XO? Is there any big differences betwen these 2 Zacapa?I mean then if there is not big difference i buy then only this one, so i save money!

Posted on 25 Oct 2009 :

The Solera 23 is grand, but the XO version is biblically superior.

Excellent but a tad too sweet Posted By: Tim Schuld

Posted on 09 Jan 2010 :

I recently bought the Zacapa after reading all the good reviews. As it often happens having great expectations, I was quite dissapointed. The rum is too sweet for me. It just doesn't compete with Bacardi 8 that has many more "down to earth" flavours. Posted By: Nils

Bacardi 8 really thats not even the same league...wow...thats in the minors were talking majors here...if u like a sipping rum this is it...you will no others
