Ironic that so many heads of corporations and anti-labor people take the first Monday of September off. Remember this:
IF YOU HAVE:
· An eight hour workday
· A five day work week
· Paid sick days, vacation days, and holidays
· Family and medical leave
· Health, life, and disability insurance
· A pension
· Safe and healthy working conditions
· Proper job training
THEN THANK A UNION MEMBER.
Looking at that list, which we all used to take for granted, we can't help but be saddened by the fact that a lot of those have gone the wayside in an economy crippled by war, wasteful spending and tax breaks for the wealthiest (who still can't seem to manage those breaks very well).
If you've earned it (If you're a working grunt as most of America would even LIKE to be), happy Labor Day.
