This is the second chapter of the Zelda franchise made for the Wii game platform, following on the successful The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Fans of Nintendo's Legend of Zelda series will be very happy to learn that the Japanese giant intends to debut the new Wii Zelda game at this year's E3, which takes place in Los Angeles June 15-17th. According to Eurogamer, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata informed investors last Friday that such would be the case. Speaking on Nintendo Week recently Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime stated that the new Wii Legend of Zelda game will release "when it's perfect," leading many to believe that the title won't come out until 2011 (via CVG). This contradicts an interview with Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata at the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun, in which the CEO lists releasing the newest Zelda title as one of the company's goals in 2010. During a recent Q&A; session held in Tokyo, Japan, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that the next Wii-developed game in the Zelda series will use the company's new MotionPlus sensor device. Wired scribbled up a blog entry which reports that there's a chance the new game may exclusively use MotionPlus. Read More »
As we reported last week during E3, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto explained how he wished he could have announced the new Wii Zelda title at this year's show. He went on to suggest that 2010's E3 will be the place where the new title will officially debut.
