See, Republicans do like gay people after all. Especially when they're embarrassing Democrats willing to trash their party.

He'll stick to his story claiming he's being forced out because of his healthcare vote. That fits the narrative that the D's are making back room deals and twisting arms to pass a bill that nobody wants.

This might actually be pretty interesting. Remember he voted "no" on the original House bill because the Public Option wasnt robust enough. Of course Beck is going to give him PLENTY of time to settle scores, but Beck is going to do his pit bull routine on Massa as soon as he can!

I thought he said the main reason he was resigning was because of cancer--so he was lying about that?

Was wondering the same thing... It doesn't make any sense. He initially said that he wasn't seeking reelection because of his cancer. Then, after the sexual harassment allegations began to swirl, he announced his resignation.
Now, he's singing a different tune...
By the way, when's the last time someone in Congress let other people "push them out" of Congress when allegations were "false?"
Massa's just trying to divert attention from his ethics issues. And apparently, he's willing to burn anyone he can to keep people from talking about his personal problems.

Yup. He's more in denial than most public officials who have been outed. Too bad for him. So far he wasn't voting against the gays. There's a time and place to just disappear. He hasn't found it. Glen Beck?

Well, he did say Washington is filled with "intense partisanship without rational thought."
So, he's going on Fox to prove it.

Wow! If Democrats could do as much damage to Republicans as they do to themselves, we would have had universal healthcare years ago.

Massa is really playing with fire. It is almost like he is daring the House Ethics Committee to release the actual allegation against him which must be pretty bad if he is quiting. I am pretty sure there are rules against it but DC is rumor central so it wouldn't shock me if it made it into the paper.
He would be smart to go quietly into the night but he has decided otherwise.
THe guy does not seem to be playing with a full deck if you ask me.

Wow! wasn't the appropiate thing for Massa
to do was go on the Corporate "Libruls" show "Rachel or Ed"
or is it that those shows are so in the tank
that they wouldn't even have him on to "discuss"
what the WH allegedly did.
All in all this is very disturbing.

Massa's story is ludicrous on the face of it. Everybody knows that the only arm-twisting and face-slapping this WH does is to progressives...

Ummmm....
Massa is a member of the Progressive Caucus and voted against the House bill because it didn't go far enough.

Should be noted...
Massa was (still is?) a darling of the PO absolutist crowd.
Hamsher was up bright and early this AM with a complete "let's set aside whether Massa was actually guilty of anything and focus on his accusations against Rahm and the WH" post.
If I were the vindictive type, I'd point out how seamlessly the teabagging right and the purity left are merging - and that Massa going on Beck is simply bridging the divide between between two polar opposite ideological camps who actually share a lot of the same nonsense conspiracy theorizing.... but I'm not the vindictive type :-)
Bottom line?
Well, purists... he's one of yours. You deal with him.

All very funny, but this is bad for Democrats and HCR and Massa knows it. He's throwing a tantrum and someone needs to get him to stop. How about fellow military hard-ass, Sen. Webb of VA?

I hope Beck goes into Massa's "Rahm in the shower" story:
Massa has said that Emanuel confronted him in a shower once over his opposition to one of Obama's budget proposals. "I am showering, naked as a jaybird, and here comes Rahm Emanuel, not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest, yelling at me," Massa said.
Yeah, and sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

clearly the dems are trying to force this biggie thru, and are thus suspicious of massa's stalling techniques. when they turn their backs on him it really looks like he's trying to screw 'em. The fear is, unless you get on your hands and knees for the guy, you might take it right up the ass.
he however claims they're misinterpreting his wide stance on this issue, as he likes to appeal to everyone. his record does indeed show as he's always bent over backwards when asked to.
the allegations from his subordinates are indeed troublesome. clearly massa's confused about the role of his staff.

Coming soon to an FDL post near you:
Glenn Beck: Misunderstood hero of TRUE progressives everywhere?
Summary:
The irrepressible Jane Hamsher asks the question that's on all our minds... We know Glenn Beck called progressivism a disease. We know he's called for our extermination. BUT - now, he's helping bring down Rahm... so were we wrong about him all along?
