It's not yet known when we'll see Tiger Woods back on the golf course, but EA confirmed today we will see his digital likeness on June 8 with the release of PGA Tour 11. Last we heard from Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman, the media conglomerate was looking for a hefty refund from Rock Band creator Harmonix following a lackluster 2009. And substantial layoffs at the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based developer cast the future of its music game franchise in doubt. But for now, at least, all is well. Today Dauman announced Rock Band 3 will ship for holiday 2010, and Harmonix welcomed pop megastar Lady Gaga to its roster of musicians. Read More »

Former Infinity Ward staffers Jason West and Vince Zampella have been the talk of the gaming town this week. Monday saw the erstwhile Infinity Ward heads fired from their jobs by Activision over accusations of insubordination, and it appears the two are not going to take this lying down. Publisher Take-Two Interactive has plenty to smile about after a fiscal first quarter that included surprise hit Borderlands (two million-plus copies sold), NBA 2K10 (two million-plus), and continued strong sales of Grand Theft Auto IV and Carnival Games. But the company's overall financial results are a sobering reminder of the state of the industry: Take-Two reported a $33 million net loss and said it plans a 15% reduction in "corporate headcount."
