Dungeons & Dragons Tiny Adventures is the first Facebook game we've featured in TGIF (you'd think that a bunch of tabletop-lovin' grognards would have grokked this one earlier). Tiny Adventures is a role-playing game in only the loosest sense of the term, in that you select a fantasy character (choosing from staples like Half-elf Cleric, Drow Ranger, and the like) which then embarks on scripted adventures. The site claims to have posted the shots in order to show the world that a lot of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare's favorite maps are making a comeback to the incredibly popular sequel. Read More »

If I had to use one word to describe 2007's Supreme Commander, it would've been "bloodless." Not for lack of violence, mind you, or even because the game was populated entirely by robots. No, I would've chosen "bloodless" because SupCom never made you care much about your units, the cause they were fighting for, or even if you won or lost the match. With this sequel, however, developer Gas Powered Games completely flips the script on all of the above, with consequences both good and bad. Read More »

Destructible cover isn't anything new in shooters (and certainly not to DICE's Battlefield franchise), but no game I've played has ever implemented it as well as Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The result is a game where everyone except snipers is almost always moving, creating a battlefield that's constantly changing from moment to moment and giving players plenty of reasons to use destructible terrain to their advantage. There can be little doubt that Bizarre Creations' new project looks impressive, and while we're going to be tinkering around with the beta a bit, it's probably safe to say that this is definitely one for racing fans to watch. It might seem like the release of Blizzard's Diablo III is a long way off, and well, it is. At least it is to the hardcore fanbase of the series, who must be feeling like their new shiny toy is still waaaay out of reach. We're fully expecting BlizzCon to reveal a lot of new information regarding Diablo III, but we'll take what we can get in the meantime. See More »
Publisher Take-Two Interactive has plenty to smile about after a fiscal first quarter that included surprise hit Borderlands (two million-plus copies sold), NBA 2K10 (two million-plus), and continued strong sales of Grand Theft Auto IV and Carnival Games. The ousting of Call of Duty creators Vince Zampella and Jason West is the punctuation mark on what has thus far been a turbulent 2010 for Activision Blizzard. And based on statements in the publisher's own 2009 annual report, it was a contradictory decision that will have a negative impact on the business. Read More »
