this is really delicious and simple to make...the only thing i added was a can of corn to add a bit of sweetness other than that great recipe

I have never been really good at mixing flour with anything...but the butter and flour together, what a concept. Love the soup and it was easy!

very good, my son (who is my tester) ate most of it..he kept heating up bowls after school...I thought it was a great way to use up some aging potatoes and some left over ham. It was great!

Excellent soup. My 2 year old nephew ate it with no problem then jumped up and down with excitement the next night because he wanted more soup! I replaced the milk with cream and split water into half chicken broth half water. Best soup I have ever made!

This is now the thing that I make the day after having a ham! Sometimes I'll make a ham just to have the ingredients to make this soup!! I add carrots to mine...DELICIOUS!!

Used this recipe and reviews to make my first pot of potato soup, and it turned out great! The second time I made a larger pot and used some water that I had previous saved from boiling potatoes, extra potatoes, and cooked for a few hours. I turned out great!

Very good but I added some seasoning such as a little marjoram and parsley. I don't think you need that extra 1/2 tsp salt as the boullion is simply flavored salt. Also, I used one can of chicken broth and added water to equal the amount of water called for in the recipe. Aside from the can of broth and a little added seasoning I followed the recipe. Very good cream soup.

This was great; not the absolute best potato soup I've had but we all really enjoyed it and I'd make it again. I love how versatile this recipe is. You can substitute a different meat for the ham or use no meat, use chicken stock instead of water and bullion, add different vegetables and/or cheese, etc. I used chicken stock instead of the water and bouillon since I didn't have any on hand, and it tasted great. You may have to be pretty generous with the salt in this recipe as the potatoes soak up a lot of the saltiness. When I first tasted the soup it was a little bland but with a little more salt the full flavor came out without it being salty at all. Great recipe overall; thanks for sharing!

Deliicous like the title states, but I will not add 1 tsp. of pepper again. It was way too spicy and I like spicy. It got even spicier after it sat overnight. I will add maybe 1/4 tsp and then add more after done if necessary!

Good and easy to make - still an excellent recipe when made meatless. Broth was not as flavorful as my other recipe but still very good considering how quick it was to make.
