Why Sheva is wearing a suit…?When I see Chris's new Warrior outfit, I can't say I see "tough guy with black leather outfit"...
The answer is quite simple. It is because we couldn’t go further with her skimpy outfit you see in the original version so we needed a style change. I am guessing you all were shocked to see Sheva in her “Tribal” costume.
That was the best we could do for the fans to witness Sheva’s physical attractiveness. If we were to expose her skin more, the game probably wouldn’t have passed the rating.
So for the new costumes, we thought of what the fans would want to see.
I went to talk to the PC version developers and they mentioned the “Office Lady” outfit. I thought it was a great idea when I heard that suggestion, but at the same time, I was also partially suspicious that this “Office Lady” idea could be a result of Capcom workers fantasizing about their personal ideal image of the working lady, envying them or ……
Nonetheless, it is understandable that they want to see working ladies in an office suit since all the development team at Capcom dresses casual, so they don’t have the chance to see office ladies with a nice suit at work. That’s the brief story of how Sheva changed into an office lady with glasses.
Then, why does Sheva also have the “Fairy Tale” costume?
That was Associate Producer Suzuki-san’s (female) personal taste. With her female point of view on what is cute and sexy, she suggested the “Fairy Tale” version of Sheva.
For Chris, it was pretty difficult to make the final decision; even harder than for Sheva. We’ve tried so many different versions but most of them didn’t fit Chris’s macho body. We eventually came to the decision of using the idea of a “tough guy with black leather outfit” and an “armored soldier,” since the original Chris was rather orthodox.
Hope you enjoy the new costumes.
Anyone planning to get the game just to play as Wesker?
Now what about that customizable Wesker skin and revolver? Well, we've decided to make him available to everyone who plays Lost Planet 2.

A theme based on the Spencer Mansion where Chris and Jill attempt to arrest the founder of Umbrella. With a price of roughly $2.75, you're probably better off grabbing the DLC for $5 and actually exploring Spencer's Mansion.
Pound-for-pound, I enjoyed Lost in Nightmares more than the main campaign of Resident Evil 5. It's not really that far from the original Resident Evil 5 in terms of objective quality, but the overall change in style goes a long way towards making it a more memorable experience. All the effort Capcom put into making Lost in Nightmares feel like a "classic" Resident Evil game, as well as the copious amounts of fan service, make this mini-campaign act almost like an apology for the less admirable aspects of Resident Evil 5.G4TV, who also seemed to come away impressed:
“Lost in Nightmares” does a great job evoking the fear and tension that defined the Resident Evil games for over a decade before RE5 upped the ante on the action and downplayed the horror elements. The mansion setting, scarce ammunition, and a dingy maze all combine to create an action-packed Resident Evil experience that feels retro and contemporary all at once. The Mercenaries characters are a nice touch, but mostly if you’re a fan of the mode. If you want a reason to revisit Chris Redfield’s horrific travails, this brief downloadable chapter is worth checking out.
Here's another chance to win an exclusive chibi majini shirt: as we did for Lost in Nightmares, the Resident Evil Gold Edition team wants to hear your questions about the upcoming DLC episode, Desperate Escape, featuring Jill and Josh. Just leave a question about Desperate Escape in the comments and the team will select 5 to answer! Those lucky winners will receive one of these ultra rare shirts! There are less than 100 entries at this time, so your chances of winning aren't bad at all. Just think up a really good question!
Swift And Efficient: Lost In Nightmares is not just short, which you may or may not like, but svelte, which is a less controversially good thing. The classic Resident-Evil-1-style puzzles that have you collecting two pieces of a plaque so a door will open may not be clever but they pass briskly and are pleasant to do. The game charges the player to do just about nothing that is tedious and instead invites them to move from one interesting corner of the mansion to the next. Had it required the player to linger, the mansion may have begun to bore, but this is a Resident Evil scrunched into a feature film run-time. Everything is stripped down and only what is needed and works is left in. This is tidy game development worth praising. The only negative point they give the DLC is that Chris and Jill don't feel as alive in their interactions as some characters from other series have.
While the aforementioned boss fight may feel recycled to RE5 veterans, the penultimate portion of the DLC is probably the best reason for checking it out. In this section you play a game of cat-and-mouse with a new breed of enemy. A lack of useful weapons has you setting traps and baiting the creatures instead of outright blasting them away. It's all rather old-school and fits well with the theme the add-on establishes. The second review is a video review from GameTrailers.com, awarding the DLC a score of 8.7 out of 10.
As the development of the original Resident Evil 5 was close to completion, once all the episodes were implemented and all staff was working on refining details, we had one more important thing left to consider… the “Bonus” element after game completion.
Throughout the series, we have been putting a fair amount of weight on the bonus elements, so we had to think hard. Then the idea of an escape mission came up, which is essentially the original idea for the “Gold Edition” contents.
This idea wasn’t featured as the bonus element simply because we weren’t able to add cut scenes at that point of development.
Some of you might know but, for the making of the original Resident Evil 5 cut scenes, we had support from studios and staff from Hollywood, so the quality is top notch with high production cost.
Naturally, we couldn’t just simply add another high quality cut scene when the game is about to be completed. We also had an idea of incorporating cut scenes using the style of American comics but unfortunately, despite our serious intent, it didn’t happen.
By going to the front door of the mansion and attempting to open it a few times (remember what happened the first time you tried that?), you'll eventually get a "?" message and the camera will shift to Resident Evil's classic, isolated point of view.Lost in Nightmares is a definite throwback to the classic RE games, so it is nice to see them put in these little extra touches.
Of course, no sooner have you made yourself at home in the salubrious, delicately detailed and high-ceilinged opulence, than you take to smashing up the furniture in anger, mostly in the vague hope of finding a hidden stash of weapons. Usually you wouldn't even blink at such random acts of vandalism, but Resident Evil has never looked so lovingly crafted, to the extent that it feels somehow wrong. Not that it stops you.For reference, Eurogamer gave Resident Evil 5 a score of 7 out of 10, and gave the Versus DLC 6 out of 10.
As you may have read from this post, the "Warrior" and "Fairy Tale" costumes went live today on XboxLive, instead of the advertised "Heavy Metal" and "Business" costumes.
This issue is in the process of being resolved with Microsoft. This may result in a few hours of downtime, most likely overnight. After that point, the correct descriptions and advertisements should appear.
It has also been confirmed that the "Warrior" and "Fairy Tale" costumes are the ones that will be available on PSN tomorrow.
Costume Pack 2, featuring "Heavy Metal" and "Business" will launch on 3/3 for XboxLive, and 3/4 for PSN.
Apologies for any confusion this may have caused.![]()
