 | | | | | Upcoming Upper Deck TCG Mount Changes Print News | Category: World of Warcraft News
Bornakk confirmed an upcoming change to the Upper Deck TCG Mounts. : In the upcoming content patch 3.2, Call of the Crusade, we are changing the Upper Deck Trading Card Game mounts to be Bind-on-Use instead of Bind-on-Pickup. This will allow players to sell newly redeemed TCG mounts in-game through the trade window, Auction House or via CoD. The primary goal behind this change is to help reduce the number of players who are getting scammed by trading for an invalid mount code. As part of this update, the NPC vendor functionality currently in place for these mounts will be removed, and instead the mount (both epic and non-epic when applicable), will now be immediately placed in your inventory upon the verified redemption of the code. If you have already redeemed one of these codes and have not purchased both the epic and non-epic versions from the vendor window, it's important that you do so before the patch is released.
This update will affect the Spectral Tiger, Swift Spectral Tiger, X-51 Nether-Rocket, X-51 Nether-Rocket X-TREME, Big Battle Bear, and Magic Rooster Egg. Items that were obtained before the patch will not be affected by this change and will continue to be soulbound to the character that purchased them. Hopefully this change will make scamming the mounts a thing of the past!

BlizzCon Tournament Coverage Streaming Print News | Category: World of Warcraft News - BlizzCon
Blizzard Entertainment has announced that this year, for the first time, all of their streaming tournament coverage for BlizzCon will be available in both high-resolution and low-resolution formats, and you can choose whichever fits your available bandwidth. The BlizzCon website will host one stream featuring StarCraft and Warcraft III events and another dedicated to World of Warcraft. As in previous years, all of this streaming tournament coverage will be provided free of charge. Be sure to tune in to find out which teams and players are the best in the world by visiting the BlizzCon site on August 21 and 22.
To clarify, the tournament coverage streams are free, but to watch panels, see new announcements as they are made, or receive the in-game pet, you will need to order the Pay Per View Internet stream.

Upcoming Data Survey Print News | Category: World of Warcraft News
Aguilar posted this cryptic and suspicious message: We plan to begin collecting non-personal system specifications data from all World of Warcraft players again in the very near future. Players who have not merged their World of Warcraft account with a Battle.net account will see a message stating, "Submitting non-personal system information". However, those who are playing with a Battle.net account will not see this message even though the system data is being gathered. This process will run for approximately one week. Please also rest assured that this data survey will have absolutely no affect on gameplay. Could they be collecting computer data for use with the next beta test? Are they plotting to take over the world? Are you going to get Blizzard spam up the wazoo?

 | | | | | BlizzCon Badge Confirmation Emails Print News | Category: World of Warcraft News - BlizzCon
Zarhym has posted on the Blizzcon forums to let all Blizzcon attendee's know that they should be receiving their Badge Confirmation emails in their inbox shortly. The most important thing to note is that the email will come from a PNMI.com address and not the usual blizzard.com address.
BlizzCon is coming and so are BlizzCon 2009 Badge Confirmation emails. It is important for all attendees to print and save these emails in order to pick up your purchased badges at the event. These emails are being sent in waves, so if you havent received confirmation emails for all of the tickets you purchased yet, please be patient. They should be arriving within the next 24 hours and are coming from a PNMI.com address. Be sure to check your spam or junk email folders in case your confirmations were directed there.
In the days to come, the bar codes contained within these emails should also be available for viewing through the Battle.net account with which you purchased your tickets so you can verify you have all of the bar codes associated with each badge you purchased.
We look forward to seeing you all at the show!

 | | | | | Housing in World of Warcraft? Print News | Category: World of Warcraft News
Someone named Tuna over at Spicytuna recently returned to the World of Warcraft and has been tossing around the age old idea of player housing. How could Blizzard do it right? For over four years now we have been asking just that. Heck, there are even some stray models left in the code for housing.
Tuna also points out that a housing system would go well with the new achievement system, providing an endless source of possible decorating ideas and goals.
What to do you think? Is it time?
