Here are the results for the poll we ran this week: How far did you level up during the betas? 577 out of 1282 visitors voted "Between level 10 and 20". This is not very surprising, as many people started playing just this weekend. The second result is more surprising: 287 people did not play the beta events. I'm sorry for the people who weren't able to get a beta key during any of the giveaways - perhaps it's time to preorder :)
The new poll question is What do you think of the new voiceovers? This weekend's beta event introduced voiceovers for many NPCs and cutscenes. Did you like them?
Instead of playing Aion, today I've been working on two templates for our wiki. To organise the pages, I've created two infobox templates: one for armor pages and one for weapon pages. An example of the templates in use can be found at the page for Akairun's Sword.
To create a new page for a weapon or armor piece, browse to the appropriate subcategory in the wiki and click the item's name. On the following page you can simply paste the template and fill in the information. Or simply copy the proper code from an existing page and change the values.
If you have any questions about editing the wiki, feel free to contact us. Thank you in advance for helping out by contributing your knowledge! :)
1. Jump from an elevated area, doesnt even have to be that high.
2. Press the jump key again to spread your glide wings.(Default space bar)
3. Hold the foward key (default w) and release the forward key before you hit the ground.
4. This will trigger you to use the momentum of you gliding in the downward motion to thrust you back up into the air.
5. Once at the height desired, hold the forward key again to aim down and release before hitting the ground again.
6. Rinse and repeat.
You're probably all playing Aion in the beta event right now. So are we! As NextWeek posted yesterday, I'm playing an Asmodian warrior on Mesramtaeda (EU server). I'd like give you a very quick overview of my impressions so far (in no particular order):
Other than the points above, I've been having a very enjoyable playing experience. So, time to get back in the game :)
At the Korean PlayNC website, a great Aion movie was uploaded. It features a battle instance from version 1.5, which we will see when Aion launches in September. Click through to the Korean website or have a look at the screenshots below:
Thanks to icarus111 for the link to this awesome video!
Gamespy published two movies on the two Aion factions Elyos and Asmodians. They will introduce you to the lore behind the factions.
The guys at Ten Ton Hammer published a new Aion guide. This one treats the system of skills, skill chains and obtaining skills.
Today we're introducing a new feature: the Wiki article of the week! Every Thursday we will select an article from our Aion Wiki, highlighting an interesting aspect of the game. This week's featured article deals with an important aspect of the game lore: Seraphim Lords.
"Atreia was now separated into two halves; light and dark. The remaining ten Empyrean Lords were also split, as the factions began to divide. Those who opposed the peace became known as the Shedim Lords, and departed for the dark half of the planet, vowing to never give into the weakness that lead to the offer of peace. They would become known as the Asmodians. The remaining Lords became known as the Seraphim Lords, taking control of the light side of the planet and calling themselves the Elyos in the process, believing that the refusal towards peace from the other five Empyrean Lords was what led to the destruction of the Tower and the splitting of the world. From that day on, the two sides became bitter enemies, fighting a war against their former allies"
From the Twitter page of Aion's Sebastian Streifert comes the following tidbit about the official beta servers: "The four new #Aion beta servers: (EU) Beritra, (EU) Ereshkigal, (NA) Vaizel, (NA) Triniel". Character creation will only be enabled on these new servers, at least during this weekend's closed beta but possibly for longer.
Today NCsoft released some official information on the Sorcerer class, one of the two Mage specializations. Fourteen screenshots in total have been released, in addition to the following class description:
"The Sorcerer is a Daeva who follows the Star of Magic. They are able to freely wield the destructive power if the natural elements: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. A sorcerer is a scholar at heart, evident by the books and orbs they normally carry with them. However, these items can be dangerous weapons in their hands as they help to increase a Sorcerer’s power."
These are the Sorcerer screenshots that were published today:
