The X-Force Get Some Sex Appeal
- February 6, 2009, Comics Features
One of the more successful ongoing X-Men books to launch is the last several years has been Craig Kyle and Chris Yost's X-Force. Messiah Complex introduced an all-new, mostly different squad with an entirely new mission. From there, Kyle and Yost have dragged Wolverine and the gang through the proverbial ringer, forcing them to confront threats like the Purifiers, the Legacy Virus, and a rejuvenated Bastion. The blood hasn't stopped flowing since.
With all the death and darkness about, the characters have had very little time to kick back and have a little fun. Well, Kyle and Yost are doing something to change that. The two writers are penning a spinoff mini-series called X-Force: Sex and Violence, with art by painter Clayton Crain. This tale follows Wolverine and Domino as they team up in a side adventure that should prove as sexy as it is bloody.
The X-Men Prepare for a Messiah War
- January 15, 2009, Comics Features
After not hearing from Cable for an extended period of time, Cyclops sent his strike team, X-Force, to track down his son and the mutant baby girl. "Messiah War" is the crossover storyline tracking those events, starting with a one-shot prologue in March and moving into the ongoing Cable and X-Force titles.
Unfortunately for the X-Men, finding Cable might be the least of their worries. Marvel has released an image of Stryfe, a clone of Cable who undoubtedly believes he can and should control the future of his species. With more threats surely lurking in the shadows, times for the X-Men are about to get much darker. IGN chatted with two of the three writers of Messiah War, Duane Swierczynski and Chris Yost about what's ahead.
