Crazy Shit In Mumbai

In case you haven't heard by now, Mumbai, India is under siege by terrorist gunmen armed with automatic weapons and grenades. State sources cite around 87 dead and hundreds injured.

Here's the most recent news results via Google.

Goddamn. Phawker has some decent coverage with pictures as well.

The 2008 Video Game Convention

In case you were asleep somewhere under a heavy rock, there was a video game expo this past weekend in Philly at the Convention Center. I took my 13 year old Floyd down there and while it actually seemed to me to be much smaller than I would've expected (despite the enormous will-call ticket pick up line we initially got in that took 20 minutes to get us our tickets), there was a bunch of stuff going on.

I'm going to ultimately defer you to check out Geekadelphia's multiple posts here, here (got a pic of these but didn't post them myself), and here but as I left on their comments, I had some pictures I wanted to throw up (bleaaahhhhh) and share with you and your inner gamer.

It was neat seeing all the weird shit that shows up at these conventions - people in Japanese anime costumes, grown men dressed up as Super Mario, 'Retro Con' which was a room devoted to gaming platforms from my generation on up including Atari, Coleco Vision, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, various Nintendo platforms and accessories (Super Scope anyone?) as well as loads and loads of games for the systems and just about everything there was for sale.

Anyways, some pics and then go check out Geekadelphia.

Delete

I think, considering the space constraints both on my portable 40GB drive as well as my 120GB internal, that I may start going through some of my older photos and just deleting them en masse.

I've got tons of photos of graffiti and various other silly crap that I either don't do anything currently with or won't be doing anything with in the future and they're otherwise just creating a space problem.

I'll keep the good stuff, of course, but as I start moving into the RAW format more predominantly, the photos I do keep will no doubt end up taking more space all by themselves.

Separating The Pros From The Amateurs

In December of last year, I took this pictures (with story) of the Comcast Building:

To see how this shot could've and should've been properly taken, just head over to Steve's place.

I think it's fairly obvious I fall into the latter category.
