PCP, cocaine, .357, found after fiery S.J. crash

A fiery car crash on Interstate 76 in Camden County last night led to the arrest of a Glassboro man on multiple drug and weapons charges, police said.

The wreck, at 10:30 p.m. in the highway's southbound lanes in Gloucester City, sent a Cadillac STS bursting into flames and trapped the driver of a Chevrolet Cavalier behind the wheel of her overturned sedan.

Firefighters from the Gloucester City Fire Department pried Neena Dagen, 24, from the overturned car with the jaws of life. Dagen was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where she was being treated for unspecified injuries.

When state police arrived, firefighters told troopers that the driver of the Cadillac, Robert Rivera, 29, had a .357 handgun.

Troopers said they found the loaded weapon on the floor of the burnt out luxury car along with two vials of what is believed to be PCP.

The Cadillac was towed to the troopers' Bellmawr station where a search uncovered an amount of cocaine in the vehicle's trunk, police said.

Rivera, who was not injured in the crash, was being held last night at the Camden County jail on $50,000 cash bail after being charged with driving while under the influence, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and drugs and other weapons counts.

Nice one jcw. Maybe he was inhaling ether and it exploded on him. There's nothing more helpless and irresponsible than a man in the midst of an ether binge ya know.
