BIOGRAPHY

THE LOWBROWS is a creator unit that formed in 2005 by CHAKI and EMI. CHAKI masters a variety of instruments including guitar, wooden bass and turntable. He has been performing as a DJ as well. EMI brings her talent out with classical music background. Their edgy sound makes you feel a sense of post-MySpace or next generation. They show their one and only presence as an electro duo “made in Tokyo.”

The unit has been gaining worldwide acclaims, as interviewed by Dazed & Confused UK magazine, picked up by famous blogs, selected on the playlist by many DJs, etc. With a reputation for their remix works, they are receiving a rush of offers from both domestic and international artists. As DJ, CHAKI has performed with Digitalism, The Bang Gang Deejays, Hot Chip, Friendly Fires and so on.

Analog EP “THE LOWBROWS EP” was released in March 2007 (now unavailable). In February 2008, an unreleased track “Melody And Shudder” was remixed by DEXPISTOLS and included in their mix CD “Lesson 4.” THE LOWBROWS gained public attention as they were the only domestic artist featured on it. A limited release of vinyl “THE LOWBROWS VS 80KIDZ” is going on sale in August. Then, their long-awaited 1st album is slated for December 2008 release.
