Last week's poll shows that most players won't easily give up anything when approached by a random player. If you head over to the official boards, I think most people would rather show a player how to obtain some adena, rather than simply handing it over to them. You scammers get nothing! NOTHING!


Option 01: Give them 100K. It's difficult to start up in this game. It's the least I can do to help. [5 votes]
Option 02: 100K is a little steep. I'll help, but not that much. Maybe 25K or 50K, but not 100K [1 votes]

For this week's siege report (Franz/Sayha/Phoenix), we're going to focus strictly on the clan, puppyrawr. The reason? Well, only because I think that's the most awesome clan name! This weekend, puppyrawr managed to hold Goddard. And... hmm.. that's about all I know about that.

I've got two requests. 1) If anyone knows what puppyrawr's clan crest looks live, please post it! I'd love to see it..... and 2) If you participated in any of the listed sieges, please add your perspective in using the Comment feature or by accessing it directly on the VN boards. WOOT! wOOT! WOOT!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I've been this happy for a friday in a long long time. Why? Who knows! It's seemed like a long week, so that's probably most of the reason why. Anyways, enough with my excitement and on with the Week in Review!



The December 2008 newsletter has arrived in a inbox near you. Well some inboxes, a lot of peeps still are not receiving these. So, if you didn't get yours, you can still have a looksie.

Monday. Yes, it did bring the song back in my head, but I'll spare ya with another version of it for this week. Let's get right down to business. We saw Poll Results and Seige Reports as usual. The polls showed split results on whether it is cheating to use a buffer that has been botted, although the person has never botted at all themselves personally. If you've missed it, I'm going to play mean and make you go look back at Monday for more details. This week's poll asks, as I'm sure you can see on the sidebar, if a random player asked for 100K, how would you react? Go vote... NOW... if you haven't already! Ok, the mean time is now over, so I'll say please =)

The siege report was based on the Big Five� servers from the past weekend. This isn't saying that the other three servers aren't big, but well, 5 is bigger than 3! Oh, and be sure to check out Nerukan's devianne siege overview listed within the "comments". Always a good read =)

The L2 in the View brought us more Mother Tree excitment. This time it comes with a present; a poem by Zaphne of Aria.

The cool find this week shows off a video of Professor Itorbeh's strategies for training bots. A cool find indeed.




Thursday brought in two news releases from the official site. We hear the full details about the Saving Santa Event and also learn about how Luna is now accepting Transfers. Anyone thinking about moving over?

We also got to listen in on an interview by Turkzor who seems to have one major purpose in this game, and that's to kill peeps! Go get 'em! Go Go 10K pvp's =)




We missed last week's well, and really close to this week's one as well. Luckily, Tamoh was able to snag us some screenie in order to post Zaphnes' song, The Rose.

This week's Wishing Well landed on the day that everyone could wear their Santa Hats again...which was perfect timing to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Unfortunately Jayla and I missed a good portion of the Well as far as screen-captures go, but I was able to catch Zaphne's opening song 'The Rose'. It was quite lovely. After the Well a small handful of us went on to look for locations for the upcoming Christmas Wishing Well, scheduled to be held on the 23rd...the Tuesday before Christmas. We will keep you updated on the chosen location!

On Monday, we got news within the newsletter (hey what a concept!) that there is a Santa Event coming out. The details on the event have now been posted. It sounds very odd and interesting at the same time. From what I gather, any player needs to defeat Thomas D. Turkey at rock paper scissors 4 times in a row which will release Santa from his imprisonment to release gifts to random players in combat. Check out the event in further detail.





Next up on the newsfront; Luna is now accepting Transfers (on a limited basis)! It will be available after the paid services come back online, after the new year (after maintenance on January 6th).

If you have ever visited L2pets.com's forums for an extended period, you know who Itorbeh is. He calls himself 'Professor Itorbeh' of the 'Phantom Summoner Academy' on Bartz...and with all the precise wisdom and knowledge he has to share on summoner classes (not only his own), he has every right to call himself a Professor!

One of his famous qualities is that of bot training. He seems to be sought out for his skills on the subject. I was lucky enough to find a YouTube video the other day, showing Itorbeh training bots from his point of view. It might be hard to tell what's going on in the vid, but it shows that it *can* be done, disregarding the fact that the vid is old. He wouldn't keep talking about it if it couldn't be done. *wink*

So for your viewing pleasure, here's his video! If you wish to check out his strategies for training bots, check out the L2pets forums. There is a specific thread there with some interesting tips. Enjoy!

After seeing the Mother Tree highlighted, the image of a woman in the tree stirred my wonder. In all my times spent here in the Elven Village I had never noticed her. With that in mind I couldn't resist seeing her for myself. She looks both peaceful and sorrowful, sheltering new Elves with her boughs as they enter the world.

It's almost 1am here now so I'm going to have make this week's siege report a quick one, very quick indeed. All I have to say is, what the heck happened at Devianne this weekend; no ownership changes. Was there no activity, or did the defenders kick some butt?

seemed to have brought on lots of talk within the Official Boards. The majority of feelings on the boards was that in one shape or form, cheating was going on and it's unacceptable. Although, the results of the poll show the results split practically right in half. For 40% of voters, there was no question of a doubt that cheating was going on. And 43% of the votes deemed that there was nothing wrong with using someone else's botted buffer though they do not bot themselves. The last option was snuck in only a couple hours ago and therefore didn't get any votes, though I'm sure it probably would have been used if there beforehand.

So, he then proceeds to say it's Thursday. Well, now I have no idea what to believe. So I have to check it out for myself, and found out that IT'S FRIDAY!!!!

Woot! If I had believed it was Thursday, there's a good chance this little review here might not have made it up. But then again, I would been searching for stuff to post for Thursday and probably would have figured it out by then. Well you would think anyways.

Our regularly scheduled program is brought to you by Tamoh Adventures. Oh wait, no. That is part of the regularly scheduled program. Tuesday is the day for Tamoh Adventures. We were presented with #53-57. Always a good read, and you know it! =)

Next up, we annouce how L2vault holds guides for 89% of all quests in L2! Ok, so I should have just made it sound a lot prettier with saying 90%! Would anyone really notice that 1%? Probably not. But then again, I am a geek like that. I had to fight back the urge to put decimal points in there, really. In any case, thanks to all who have helped get us up to "89%"! Be on the look out when I announce 90%.. then 91%... then 92%!! lol, ok may i'll keep it to intervals of 3-5%.




On Wednesday, we saw an awesome siege video and later on we found out that it was created by one our newest contributors, purp, who gets welcomed in on Thursday (see Thursday's review). We're hoping to get a lot more of his vids like this posted as a regular feature; Sweet Deal!

The L2 in View ventured to Elf Village and centered in on the famous "Mother Tree". After posting, we gained some greater insight from koster_jay about the Mother and how it is not just one tree, but rather a series of trees. It's crazy how much you can think you know about a game, and then realize how much more there is to find out about. Especially about things you pass by on most days. I think that's the part of the game I like the most. There's always something new to learn about, even non-game play related items.




Lots going on Thursday. We first welcome on Gloridalh, purp to our team and welcome back the lovely Vampyress. We're really excited to be having them all around.

Next up, we hear about purp's potty lottery idea. It's a neat project he's started and I have high hope for it being successful. Basically, you can pay a little for the chance to win something worth a heck of a lot more. The event runs on Sahya and this particular one ends on Sunday December 7th. If you're feeling lucky, check out the details.

Thursday ends with a nice interview from Kalynai/Exotika from Phoenix. I always find it fun to learn more about the players who are playing the game. This one being no exception.



The wishing well was missed this week. Boo! Check in next week. I'd like to think we wouldn't miss it twice in a row. But then again, stranger things have happened.

Gloridalh is currently working on bringing us the Kama guides for each level. I personally can't wait to see some of it. He also has some interest in creating a blog of his own, similar to the Tamoh Adventures. Kama guides first, blogging later as I understand it. Gloridalh has been a good friend of mine from back in the Justice days on Devianne for those of you who remember. This annoucement is a bit overdue, but I'm certainly glad to have him on the team.

purp shall be helping around with some quest guides to help us reach our quest guide goal as announced earlier this week. He will also be making announcements about one of his own new projects, the Potty Lottery, each time one is launched. Plus, I'm hoping to start a feature with the videos he's been creating similar to the one posted as this week's Cool Find.

Vampyress is back! Woot! After a lil break, we are honoured to be hearing from Vampyress again. She will be focusing on quest guides that she has been o' so famous for in the past. First up on her agenda now is to work on the two Pailaka guides that the vault does not currently have posted. Welcome back Vampy! Good to see you here! At this rate, our quest guide goal should be met in no time!

Toons starting out in Elven Village get a treated with the beautiful sight of The Mother Tree as soon as they start the game. I think NPC Kasiel says it so well when he says "The Mother Tree is always so gorgeous!". But then we have NPC Jaradine saying "How can we save the Mother Tree? The Mother Tree is slowly dying." He's always saying this while walking around the tree in the center of the village. This has always confused me wondering which tree is infact, THE Mother Tree. Nerukan was kind enough to set things straight for me in explaining how the tree at the starter area is THE Mother Tree considering there is a figure of a women etched into it. Have you noticed that? I would assume most folks who haven't made a light elf toon might not have even seen glimpses of the tree to begin with. In any case, enjoy in it's beauty for The Mother Tree is the show in this week's L2 in the View.
