Legendary Pictures to Buy Epic Games?
Talks appear to have begun.
October 24, 2008 - The same folks who brought the Xbox 360 world Gears of War and will soon bring us Gears of War 2 could be joining the Legendary Pictures label if today's report in Variety proves to be accurate. Until now Legendary Pictures has kept itself confined to the movie industry and they'd be the first such company to make the leap to investing in a videogame developer.

October 22, 2008 - With Max Payne doing well in theaters at the moment, we decided to look back at this long and troubled history of game adaptations. We've picked a half dozen or so of the more notable efforts and graded their their interpretations of specific characters. How does Liu Kang hold up after 13 years? Was Mario really as lame as we remember. The grades are in, and we expect a lot of characters are going to be grounded for the foreseeable future once their parents catch wind of them.

Resident Evil Degenerates
Resident Evil 2 pals team up once again in Blu-ray.
October 20, 2008 - On December 30, 2008, Capcom and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Resident Evil: Degeneration on DVD, Blu-ray and PSP UMD. The computer-animated film follows the lines of the video-game series rather than the movie series, and stars Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, the co-headliners of
Resident Evil 2. It will contain bonus materials and extra features, and the DVD will be available for the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) of $27.96, while the Blu-ray will run for the MSRP of $39.95. The UMD will cost you $24.94.

Max Payne Review
This game-to-film simply doesn't bring enough pain.
October 17, 2008 - Based on the Rockstar videogame franchise, Max Payne follows the eponymous maverick cop (Mark Wahlberg), who is a NYPD detective here rather than an undercover DEA agent. A brooding widower whose pregnant wife and unborn child were murdered some years before, Max is a grim reaper-like figure in the department: a storied tough guy who may or may not have killed suspects in his wife's case who subsequently mysteriously disappeared.
