Microsoft Offers Memory Upgrade
Microsoft wants everyone to enjoy the New Xbox Experience.
By GameSpy Staff | Oct. 14, 2008

When the Microsoft Xbox 360 was originally released, not everyone was happy that the system's hard drive was optional. Developers weren't happy because they couldn't create games that utilized the storage, while some consumers didn't like the fact that the proprietary hard drives cost so much more than non-Xbox 360 ones. Although the hard drive is still optional, the upcoming launch of the "New Xbox Experience" is forcing Microsoft to rethink their strategy a bit. Since the NXE requires some storage space, the Redmond-based company has decided to offer consumers the chance to upgrade their systems.

By heading over to to the Xbox Storage Upgrade site, you can find out if your console is eligible for the upgrade by plugging in your Xbox 360's serial number and console ID. If you're a Core or Arcade owner, you might want to check it out!
