Battlefield: Bad Company (Gold Edition) Online Strategy Guide

Game Guide

Welcome to Bad Company, soldier, where only the most undesirable and inept members of the American military find themselves. You'll take the role of Private Preston Marlowe and hope to survive an all-out war between the United States and Russia. Do you have what it takes? Well, that question is irrelevant, because here at IGN Guides, we'll make sure that you do. And yes, there's more to Battlefield: Bad Company than just bloodshed and endless war. There are riches to be had, too. Lots and lots of riches which drive the men of Bad Company to continue to fight.

So what does our guide encompass? Well, it encompasses everything of course! In the Basics section, you'll find tips and tricks to help you survive another day, including our famed Ten Tips section for a quick rundown on the most important things to remember as you play. Our walkthrough covers the game's seven missions in-depth so you can get through everything in the easiest way possible. And of course, our Collectibles section is chock full of information on each of the game's collectibles and pieces of gold. In other words, you have a complete compendium of knowledge at your disposal.

So be careful, soldier! This isn't a war you're supposed to survive. But with IGN Guide's help, you'll change your odds exponentially.

In this Battlefield: Bad Company strategy guide, you'll find:

  • BASICS // An introduction to life in Bad Company.
  • WALKTHROUGH // All seven missions covered in their entirety.*
  • COLLECTIBLES // Mission-by-mission layouts of collectibles and gold.*
Hint: Save Your Grenades

During the game, you’ll encounter plenty of houses that you can explore. Usually, your instincts will tell you to blow a hole in the house with a grenade. But you can save those precious grenades and use your knife to bust out the house’s door or windows. You can then jump on into the house and explore without having used any grenades!

Hint: Cut Yourself Some Slack

You probably noticed this already, but in case you haven't, you can cut certain animations of your items and weapons short while reaping their benefits on single-player.

This is especially helpful if you're being shot up by several enemies and need the auto-injector to stay alive. For the auto-injector, once the screen tilts and you hear the re-assuring hiss, you can switch to another item or weapon.

For weapons, once the magazine total reads its maximum, you can select another weapon or item and your gun will be ready to go when you next select it. You can even start a reloading animation just before climbing a ladder and reap the benefits of the reload.
