NPR, CNN's Crowley report on Obama's Beverly Hills fundraiser, ignore McCain's recent lucrative fundraisers
NPR and CNN reported that Sen. John McCain mocked Sen. Barack Obama for holding fundraisers in Beverly Hills that were expected to raise several million dollars, but neither report noted that McCain himself reportedly attended a fundraiser in Miami earlier in the week that raised several million dollars and held a fundraiser last month in Beverly Hills attended by celebrities.

NPR's Liasson played clip of McCain ad without noting its distortions
NPR's Mara Liasson uncritically reported that Sen. John McCain's campaign is "running this ad claiming she's [Gov. Sarah Palin] been the victim of sexism by Obama." In fact, the ad distorts each of the three Obama campaign statements it uses to make its "claim[]" as FactCheck.org and The New York Times have noted.

McCain and Palin are laughing at the press -- and it's the press' fault

Did you hear the media are mad? According to Howard Kurtz at The Washington Post, the press is angry at McCain for his patently untrue lipstick attack, and they're seething over how Sarah Palin keeps telling her demonstrably false "Bridge to Nowhere" tale even after members of the media pointed out her stump-speech applause line was a lie. Instead of recoiling, the Republican ticket seems to have adopted a post-press approach to campaigning in which the candidates simply don't care what the press does or says about their honesty. More to the point, the candidates don't think it will matter on Election Day. They may be right. And that's the media's fault.
