Help Wanted!
Asheron's Call Vault wants you! With the 100th patch out, and the introduction of Societies, AC Vault has a need for database editors to assist in updating our Armour (I speak UK English, so sue me!), Weapons, and Quests Databases. You can choose to either take on one, two, or all three of the databases as your area.
The ideal "Database Editor" would be able to spare half an hour to an hour a day adding and updating entries into their designated database, through Vault Network's VNAP interface. They should also be able to work well in teams, and must be actively playing Asheron's Call (preferably with an active interest in the society content).
If you're interested, contact me using the e-mail form on AC Vault.

Reminder: Turbine Developer Chat - Submit Your Questions
Just a reminder, that AC Vault's developer chat with Turbine is still needing some questions to submit! To submit a question, just visit the question submission page on AC Vault.
Please note that not all questions will be answered, and questions which are needlessly confrontational, or not related to the overall direction of the game and content (some exceptions may be made at the discretion of AC Vault or Turbine for "fun" questions) will not be accepted, so please don't submit questions like "when will you fix such-and-such an error?" - they wont get in.

Issue 98 is up!
While it was a shorter week, due to the holiday, a number of issues and items were discussed. Among these were the drop rate of mana shards, the new loot chests, and the drop rate for the Skeleton Jaws. Severlin confirmed that the Skeleton Jaw drop rate will be increasing for the September patch!
Turbine is still gathering feedback about the new systems, so if you want your voice to be heard, head over to the Turbine forums and let them know what you think!
Enjoy!

September 2008 Desktop Calendars
First of all, apologies for the lateness! Our artists have been hard at work putting together another desktop calendar for your enjoyment, and I've been flat-tack and forgotten to post them. Doh!
Available in the three major resolutions, they're made to work with anything except dual screen (which is really hard to do!)
You can download them now.
We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the artists who work tirelessly to bring the whole network all those pretty pictures we love so much. Cheers!

Issue 97 is up!
Wow! What a busy exciting week on the forums, and in game! As everyone knows, it was the 100th patch, so naturally that brought out many, many questions! A great number of posts centered on the new "Keeps" that can be controlled by Societies. Both Kintani, and Severlin went into great detail explaining the dynamics and mechanics of these areas.
Also discussed was the new loot, chest keys, society armor chests, and mana shards.
I'm sure the next weeks will answer more questions, and provide more information, so stay tuned!
Enjoy!

Results: Top 10 Things You Like About the 100th Patch
The results of this contest are in! Congratulations to Jennifer_the_Great, with the following winning entry:
So far, I've really liked the 100th patch. I've noticed that a lot of people that aren't enjoying it (for one reason or another) usually haven't ventured away from Asheron's Call to play other games. On the other hand, there's been a lot of returning players (like my husband and I) that really appreciate the depth and quality of this update. I'm not sure if that's because the AC Dev Team is taking the game in a direction that's more in tune with the features that other games already provide or not, but regardless, it's a great update. Individual reasons: A (small) form of Land Control with a bonus vendor when your faction controls the area, loot upgrades that (at least so far) can't be macroed, content that will continue revealing itself for some time to come judging by the slowness that people advance in each society, and level VIII spells that I still can't figure out how to craft.
You can view all the results in our Top 10 section.
Thanks to all who entered, and we hope you'll enter again.
Jennifer_the_Great, you have seven days to claim your prize.

We Want Your Screenshots!
AC Vault wants your screenshots! We've been seeing lots of threads both here and on Turbine's official forums about how cool the faction wars to control the PvP forts are, and we want screenshots of it!
To submit your screenshots, just email them to us! Submitted screenshots have a chance of being the backdrop for our monthly wallpaper, and you might just get something nice for it too!

Warcry Exclusive Interview with Andy Cataldo and Dave Javier
Our friends over at Warcry have just posted an exclusive interview they managed to secure with Dave Javier (producer for Asheron's Call) and Andy Cataldo (better known as "Frelorn").
When Asheron's Call launched in November of 1999, the development team at Turbine had an ambitious plan in mind: every month, they would update the game, not just to add content but to further the game's story. With the game's ninth anniversary right around the corner, the AC team has hit another huge milestone: August's update is the game's 100th.
We sat down with Producer Dave Javier and Community Manager Andy Cataldo to chat about the evolving world of Dereth and both their favorite memories from the path as well as what they were looking forward to in the future of Asheron's Call.
You can read the rest of the interview over at Warcry.

Something New in the Works at Turbine?
Not strictly AC related (or maybe it is?) we've just been alerted to a press release on the Havok website (Havok produces Physics and Animation engines - if you've bought a game in the last 5 years you've likely seen it) confirming that Turbine has just licensed their engine for use in "upcoming MMO games for the console and PC". This may be the first time that Turbine's intention to create games for the console has been confirmed in writing. We'll be watching to see what comes of this! An AC sequel (or even prequel) perhaps?

Issue 96 is up!
As expected, it was a pretty quiet week on the forums. We are coming down to the wire on the 100th patch, and it is understandable that Turbine is quite busy putting out the finishing touches for us!
Frelorn did post another teaser image, and the website for Turbine got a complete overhaul! Frelorn also discussed his busy schedule.
We're counting down to the 100th patch. Are you ready? If all goes well, it should be happening this coming week. Woo hoo!
Enjoy!
