X-Play - G4's long running weekly game related television program has reviewed Wings of the Goddess. While we don't have the entire review in text format for you we can sum it up in a few bullet points:

• Not enough content ready at launch (monsters, armour)


• Although new areas are introduced the game does rely on revamps of older areas


• The advanced user interface and beginning stages of the game has not been addressed in this expansion

Looks like there are some issues with The Star Light Festival:

Currently, we have confirmed an issue where the "Magellan Card" and "Andromeda Card" items obtainable through the Starlight Celebration may not be properly inscribed. Investigation into this issue as well as efforts to fix it are being performed, so we ask for your patience in this matter.

Additionally, based on the current information gathered, we have confirmed that this issue can occur when moving in or out of festival areas, logging out, or going in or out of Mog Houses while participating in this event. If this issue has affected you, though we regret any trouble this may cause you, we ask that you please perform the event one more time.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience caused by this error.

The Starlight Celebration, that annual festive occasion for the inhabitants of Vana'diel to make wishes upon the stars in the night sky, has come yet again to San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst.
All three nations are resplendent in the breathtaking decor of the season with its splendidly adorned trees and captivating lights, and the spirit of holiday cheer is unmistakable on the faces of the townspeople as they traipse the city streets. And as for the moogles? Why, for some reason they seem to be flitting about to and fro in an extremely agitated state...

Starting today, the PlayOnline "Membership Information" section under Service & Support on the PlayOnline Viewer can be accessed from the web.

The site is currently limited to viewing specific account data, but in the future, more features will be added and users will be able to purchase Content IDs or change payment methods.

The starlight festival is almost here and to celebrate we are wrapping up this week's news. The week started out with news of a customer service survey from PlayOnline. We also posted a brand new guide titled "Rank Three Dragon Fight".

Wednesday started with a community watch report outlining the process for earning gil. We also welcomed our brand new Assistant Manager LeroyOG his guides and stories have been a major contribution to our site. We also posted a brand new YouTube of the week titled "Hips Don't Lie"

On Thursday we carried news about a Linkshell Beta update. We also posted LeroyOG's new story "The Dreaded Dragon Fight". We also posted a brand new poll asking what your player level is.

We've got an official statement from Square Enix regarding third party malicious websites.
"We have received reports that a popular third-party FINAL FANTASY XI
website had been infecting customers with malicious software. Our Legal
team immediately contacted the hosting site of the offending third-party
website and had the site taken down until the issue could be addressed.
While the website main page has had the offending code removed, we
strongly recommend that our community be careful when they visit any
website concerning FINAL FANTASY XI that is not endorsed by Square Enix.
While we have no control over these third-party websites, we urge that
the community contact us immediately if any similar incidents arise in
the future.

We also suggest that our customers read up on precautionary measures
they can take to ensure they safety of their information online.

The Vana'diel tradition known as the Starlight Celebration is all set to kick off on Tuesday, December 18th.
The townspeople of all nations are already getting into the holiday spirit, decorating their cities with festive trees and dazzling lights. Street vendors are setting up shop with a plethora of special seasonal wares and everyone is going about preparing to make this year's celebration an unforgettable experience for all of Vana'diel's adventurers. And rest assured that the moogles would never let a holiday season pass without doing something spectacular!
