If you wonder why in the world would they do this during prime time, it's mainly as they can only look for certain issues during server load.

Looks like some bugs were introduced with the 17.7 patch and have been quickly squashed by Funcom. Lets hope there isn't an emergency 17.7.2 patch.

Silirion has posted the November '07 letter from the game director today. Included in it are topics such as the intent of the 17.7 update, and 17.8 beyond that. 17.7 will apparently be a way to get people interested in the zones they thought they'd never have to see again from the beginning of the game, while 17.8 looks to mostly have a PvP focus with the first of the new PvP system changes (including rankings) in place with the new "Social Clothing" system to tide the non-PvPers over.

There's also hints that next year we will finally be able to see a complete Raid Interface, as well as the completion of the new Rendering Engine.

We've just received word that next week will be the implementation of the 17.7 patch. With this patch, you will no longer have the ability to purchase the jetbike pack.

Purchasing will cost just 2000 points (the equivalent of about $20, give or take for free points you may have), giving you all the available jetbikes, so it's certainly worth it!

Just a quick heads up that Funcom will be performing server maintenance on the Anarchy Online servers this weekend. You wont have to log out, but you might experience random disconnects and stability issues.

We've just been alerted that there are a couple of account and billing related changes in the works. First, the Anarchy Online website is to become the one and only place to buy game cards and upgrades online.

Second, and much better than the first, players who use game time cards rather than a Visa or other credit card will now receive paid points, with which they can buy all sorts of items from Jetbikes to Luxury Apartments.

Just a couple brief updates on billing and account related things.

Firstly, all sales of game time cards and AO upgrades such as Lost Eden will now be handled exclusively through Funcom's billing pages rather than through Ask.Net.

And on the topic of prepaid time cards, prepaid cards were not considered �recurring� the way subscriptions are, which is why they were not initially given a stipend of Paid Points.

However, we are aware that there are players in the community that use prepaid cards and decided we don't want to leave them out. Users of prepaid 3 month and 6 month cards will thus get a small stipend of Paid Points to thank them for playing. Users of 3 month cards will get 150 Paid Points and 6 months will get 350 Paid Points.

Those who have been paying with prepaid cards since the Paid Points system went live will also get the points they've earned since that system went online. However, this is a manual process and requires some work, so please give us some time. If you haven't received your Paid Points as of December 21, please contact account@anarchy-online.com

So it looks like we're coming closer to another patch! There's some interesting changes coming in, centred around new quest lines and improvements on old weapons and the like.

There's also bug fixes and changes to existing features to just make things better (I've played WoW before - turning of Shoulder Pads has GOT to be one of the most useful features in a game!)

Unfortunately, they've also taken this opportunity to introduce everyone's least favourite element... Res Sickness! Just don't go dying [while in a mech, outside the battlestation] and you'll be right!

These guys are absolute machines! Barely a month after delivering us the new Jetbikes, and lots of other improvements, we have the preview for the 17.7 update. In this update, we'll be seeing more of those neat Dust Brigade quests, as well as some new quests centring on the "Mysteries of Rubi Ka", and upgrades to some of those old weapons you probably didn't think you'd use again. Don't be forgetting the gameplay and UI changes!

It's always a special time of year on Rubi-Ka and this year will be no different.
