Q. Not that long ago you announced a reward for players with 5yrs+ account time. Is there any way to tell how long you've had an active account? I started in Beta 3 but over the last few years have been on and off for various reasons. I get told that I don't have the 5yrs but is there any way, other than heading to Jordheim every week or so, to know when my 5yrs will be up?
A. Heres the word from Billing: When you log in to the server selection screen (before picking their server and playing) you can click the "Account Info" button at the bottom. The second line says "Created:" and the date the account was created on.

From the Herald. Bounty point deeds removed for the time being.
- Housing Deeds (cottage, house, villa, and mansion) are no longer available for purchase with Bounty Points (BPs).
These deeds have been temporarily removed because they were providing the potential for an exploit. Of course, we cant go into detail about what the exploit was, exactly, but we can elaborate a little.
Bounty Points are intended as an alternative method to obtain some items and services in game, but are not designed as a method to obtain currency. Some players figured out a way to abuse the housing system in order to obtain gold via bounty points. You dont have to worry if you bought or sold house deeds with Bounty Points that you earned legitimately. The use of the exploit is very methodical and you would certainly know if you were doing it. There has been some concern about players who may have been banned because some of the exploited gold has been traded to them. This is only the case when it is obvious to us that the player holding the gold was aware of the means that the gold was gained, and therefore was knowingly helping someone who was exploiting the situation. The Housing Deeds that can be purchased by Bounty Points (BPs) will return after we have fixed the issue with the Housing Upgrade process.
On a related note, if you find a way of gaining gold or experience that is vastly quicker than it should be, then we ask you to please file an emergency appeal rather than a bug appeal. The appeal system for bugs works differently than the rest of our appeal system. If you enter a bug appeal, your entry goes into a queue that goes straight to our bug department. You will not get a reply from a CSR because the CSRs have a different queue. Bugs like the ones mentioned above should be sent in via emergency appeal, so that our CSRs can work with you to document the issue and verify the bug, and protect your account from being flagged for using the bug. Testing something once or twice is just testing. More than that, and it is considered an exploit. We all want Dark Age of Camelot to remain a game with a well balanced economy and we thank you for your cooperation, and of course, for playing!
October is the month when frightening phantoms, restless revenants, and spooky spirits roam the streets and countryside. Here are some of the crazy things you will see during this time of year.
Team Naturalist of the Caerleon cluster has long fought to defend Hibernia at all cost. But now, there grows a bigger threat on the horizon and Team Naturalist needs all of Caerleon's help to get rid of this growing threat.
From the President of the United States of Team Naturalist's declaration:
My fellow Caerleonians,
As you all know, Team Naturalist has been dedicated to the defence and preservation of the Hibernian Frontier. We have fought long and hard to preserve our keeps, relics, and freedoms, and Team Naturalist forces have been involved at great length in a vast majority of defensive and offensive initiatives.
The vision and goals of Team Naturalist have been support fully by our realmmates, and we have worked with them (and they with us) to accomplish many glorious ends.
Indeed, many of you have fought with or against us, on one or many occasions. We respect many of you as peers.
Today, however, I come to you not as a rival on the field of battle, nor as President of the United States of Team Naturalist, nor even as a Hibernian. I come to you today, humbled, as a fellow Caerleonian.
For you see, my friends, there is a greater threat. A threat that threatens our borders and threatens to become an unstoppable threat that threatens to threaten our existence.

Letter from the DAoC Producer on the Herald. 6 years old and good stuff coming.
Hello all,
Its been six truly wonderful years since Dark Age of Camelot first opened its servers to the hungry Realm versus Realm masses; six years of high intensity melee combat and countless magical explosions on the battlefields of the Frontiers; six years of the deadliest and most compelling siege warfare ever seen in any live MMO to date.
Six years and still counting.
I suspect that few of you know who I am. My name is Chris Rabideau and I have been the Producer of Dark Age of Camelot since January of 2007. Perhaps some of the old schoolers might remember me, but for the most part, prior to my role as Producer, Ive not been in the public eye simply because most of the jobs Ive held over the years didnt require it. In the seven years Ive been with Mythic, I have never moved off the DAoC project. Ive worked in nearly every capacity, including content development, systems design, QA, and production. I remember running to the store for office supplies or server RAM back when Mythic Entertainment was a small company and we all wore many hats. I have a great deal of passion and love for this game, and I have a tremendous amount of appreciation and respect for its community.
During my time as Producer thus far, the DAoC team has worked hard to realize many new features and loads of new content for the game. From upgrading/improving the keeps and towers in the Frontiers region, to A Dragons Revenge (a six month story campaign chock-full of free content), to working on a new UI, to updating our patcher to a more modern (and user-friendly) layout, this team has gone from one end of the game to the other - and we arent finished yet. We are currently in the process of improving our housing system to expand on and make storage more readily available and to add value to higher tier houses which cost more to buy and maintain. We are also developing some new player mounts I dont want to ruin the surprise, but theyre not horses J. We continue to fine tune and tweak core systems of our game with new improvements, as well as each of the realms classes within DAoC to ensure that all players share an equally enjoyable gameplay experience.
We also recognize that some changes are not always welcome. A decision to make a change, particularly to a core game system, is never easy. As a team, we carefully analyze not just data, but also what our community is telling us. This is why you will continue to see login polls asking for your opinions. We have always been interested in what our community says, and we always will be.
Id like to tell you more about our new test environment: In the coming months, we are going to be deploying a new experimental test server to our gaming community (to accompany Pendragon). This new server will house code changes to highly complex game systems, which will typically require more than one patch cycle to implement. Changes to or additions of major systems, such as the UI, in-game mail and auction house (to name a few) will be deployed out to this new server ahead of all other servers, including Pendragon. This will allow the community to log in and see what were up to, as well as allow more time for the community to react to and make suggestions about whatever major systems were working on. This will also provide us more time to consider community feedback, and make adjustments where best for the game and its players.
I realize this post is more of a Producers Letter and less a celebration of DAoCs 6th anniversary. However, I hope my message conveys the facts that Dark Age of Camelot, after six fantastic years, still has a tremendous following, and still receives a tremendous amount of developer support. We are committed to this game and we will continue to work hard to ensure that Dark Age of Camelot remains a truly fun and enjoyable gameplay experience.
From all of us here at EA Mythic, we thank you for six wonderful years, and we hope to see you around for many, many more.
Hot fix on the Herald. A few Dragon quest issues addressed.
Just a few quick fixes to make your questing lives a bit easier. Enjoy!
NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES
- The area in Dartmoor where Gerik Morrow's Sword can be used has been moved north of Golestandts Lair, allowing players to more easily activate the sword without unduly attracting the dragons ire.
- Draconic Essence Stones will no longer auto split to group members if the players inventory is full.
- (Hibernia) The Stealing Supplies Quest has been updated to display the correct waypoint.
Kicking off the long Columbus day weekend with the Grab Bag!
Q. I want to know if theres a list of the rewards you can receive from a siege supply chest? I've done multiple searches for this but I've not succeeded hence I'm turning to you as you are the developers. I know there are potions with group effects etc. I also wonder if these potions are rechargeable just like crafted potions?
A. The Bearded Wonder was nice enough to look this up and provide a list: The supply chests give you a random item from the following: one of eight one-time use potions (non-rechargeable), a Hired Militiaman Contract, or random siege ammunition in a stack of five.
Q. I recently canceled my account because I just don't have time to play this particular semester at college. My house was condemned, which I was expecting, but I just realized, what's going to happen to all the things inside my house? Mainly the 60 something platinum I left on my merchant?
A. You can find this information on the herald.
http://www.camelotherald.com/more/3117.shtml
- Houses which are owned by closed accounts will be condemned and removed from their lots after a reasonable period of time has lapsed and the account has not been re-opened. The house (in the form of a deed), all in-game money stored on the consignment merchant, all trophies, vaults, the consignment merchant, and items contained within the vaults and consignment merchant, will be placed on the repossession NPCs located in the Market areas of the housing zones.
