Neverwinter Nights 2.FR have reported that Atari Europe have announced the imminent launch of their Neverwinter Nights 2 Adventure pack! This adventure pack will be available exclusively via digital download -so we're talking bigger in every way than Premium Modules folks! The first Adventure Pack is developed by Ossian Studios and titled "Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate" and offers 15 hours of gameplay set in the Forgotten Realms city of Westgate. With an all new storyline, professional voice acting, musical scores and new in game content, this sounds like it is going to be a smashing NWN2 adventure! Here is an excerpt:
Developed by Ossian Studios, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate is the first full featured Adventure Pack available from Atari. Set in the infamous Forgotten Realms city of Westgate, players find themselves in possession of a powerful but cursed treasure that threatens to destroy them. Linked to the underworld organization known as the Night Masks, the treasure will draw players into a city-spanning clash between warring factions. Players must choose their allegiance in order to break the curse and ultimately uncover a plot that threatens Westgate itself.
Neverwinter Nights 2 and the influence of this phenomenal brand continues to grow through the tremendous work done by the committed and highly active fan community who have mastered Obsidians toolset to create deeply involving new adventures, said Mathias Hautefort, Executive Vice President of publishing and production, Atari. Our successful work with independent developer Obsidian in creating the original game is now being enhanced by our collaborative efforts with these highly talented and emerging studios such as Ossian Studios, and the result is nothing less than the fans would expect of Neverwinter Nights: high production values, engrossing storylines, and long, involving campaigns.
From the creators of the critically-acclaimed Neverwinter Nights module, Darkness over Daggerford, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate will feature a non-linear, open-ended single-player campaign with numerous side quests covering more than 15 hours of game play. Ataris new Adventure Pack will also feature 3 new companions; an entirely new underground sewers tile set themed after the seedy underbelly of Westgate; a host of new monsters to do battle with, including some truly epic foes; an exciting new and original musical score; as well as thousands of new lines of professionally recorded dialogue.
This is what appears to be the first of the Adventure Packs available via digital download, Neverwinter Nights 2: Mysteries of Westgate is scheduled for release in autumn 2007.
Quick Pros :Easy-to-use and complete supply of equipment, ability to adapt your gear to personal liking, simple list of enemies to choose from varying from vermin creatures to raiding parties and even yourself. Quick Cons :No fringe features, does not feature high level range creatures.
Vordans Hero Creator offers the players the ability to adapt his/her character to his/her personal liking. Level, amount of gold, alignment, item names, history of the character, you name it! Through simple conversations this Trainer allows the player to change whatever they want with just a few mouse clicks. Besides the regular features, this Trainer also allows the players to craft their own weapons and add whatever properties they like to the custom items. That way you can create the ideal character for Arenas, PWs or just personal usage.
Why constructing a difficult Trainer, when it can be accomplished in a simple way. This Trainer offers the players an easy-to-use surrounding in which they can equip themselves and prepare against the coming battles.

We made a simple test module. Basically, copyObject is attached to a lever. When you pull the lever, it will copy you and place that copy in the area. If it returns any kind of invalid message, it prints it in the chat log and does not copy the object.

The 1.69 Patch Thread, Part 14 Actually, it's just the male human player model with the fixed Impact rotation so flags and other VFXs are oriented properly and don't stick out the side.
More: As I haven't gotten to critters, I don't think there is any appearance.2da or related files at all currently.

That said, this sounds very much like an installation issue. I would suggest that you back up your saved games and characters to a location outside of the NWN installation directory and then uninstall and reinstall the game. When the game has been reinstalled please patch to version 1.68 to ensure you are receiving the benefit of the latest code fixes.
We tested our installers under Vista when it was first released and encountered no difficulty provided you are installing as an Administrator.
I have re-confirmed the following as of this afternoon:
1.) The stand alone retail version of the "Kingmaker Adventure Pack" installs and functions under Windows Vista with no difficulty what so ever.
2.) The "kingmakerSetup.exe" package included with "Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition" installs the game and also functions 100% properly.
3.) The Digital version of Kingmaker (v1.1) a.k.a. "Kingmaker_Installer.exe" installs perfectly on Windows Vista provided that you are installing it as an administrator.

Tonight we have a Neverwinter Nights Module in the spotlight created by Tom Ford (fire&ice;). Titled "The Black Watch", this module has approx 2 hours of gameplay and is designed with a Wizard or Sorcerer in mind. It appears to be the start (or first day) of a larger story, and would be perfect for an evenings romp gaming! Here's an excerpt:
The Black Watch. An NWN module by Tom Ford (tom.ford@compsoc.net)
This is a single player moduled suitable for 1st level sorceror or wizard classes.
It requires both expansions and NWN 1.68
One hak is required: blackwatch.hak
The Black Watch puts you in the role of a member of a militant cell, fighting a ruling autocrat. But things maybe aren't going so well...
The first day of this module is complete and extensively bug tested (1 - 2 hrs of gameplay). Unfortunately, the whole story is not complete but I hope what is there makes for an entertaining evening of gameplay.
Thanks for your contribution Tom Ford (fire&ice;). If you'd like your work in the spotlight, drop me a line.

Still no same sex romance in NWN2 :( I will leave this topic open for now as long as it stays on topic, or unless it is deemed inappropriate for these forums. I think it comes close to the line, so I will leave that decision to the moderators and Biowarians.
The previous thread was closed down due to the discussion crossing the line into talking about rape and other taboo topics for these forums. Those subjects have no business here.
Please remember that the forums are designed to be open to everyone. As such, more adult-oriented topics are not allowed.
I'm Worried... I know AMD has a program to help with games that are not designed for multi-core machines. I am not sure if Intel does or not.
I have heard some people have had success by making a change to the game's .ini files to set processor affinity, but my search-fu is not strong this morning.
Other than that, the way I know of is to go into the task manager (CTRL-ALT-DEL) and right click on the NWN2 process. There should be a setting there.
Modding NWN2 I am a bit biased so I will leave my opinions out of it
However, a good place to check and see what is going on is the NWN2 Community Update on Obsidian's website Which, by the way, there should be an update today.
I have a bit of an odd question about the digital download.
I have two copies for NWN2; one for me and one for my son. Last night, I bought the DVD version of MotB but the store only had one copy.
Can I use my MotB DVD, which I already installed on my machine and install the game on my son's PC and then just buy an activation code? I want to avoid downloading the game but will pay $29.99 for another activation code.
Yes in theory you can just use the activation code from buying the game on our site and then just install it using the DVD. However note that by buying it from our site you will also gain access to the download so you always have that option as well as a backup though I forsee no issues as the activation code is also the CD Key for the game. However I have never tried it myself and don't remember testing it but I believe it should work. If it does not work please let me know and I can help you out.
Today we have a Neverwinter Nights 2 Plug-Ins file in the spotlight created by Sothis B. Titled "NWN1 area tiles converter", this Plug-In is patch 1.10 compatible having been recently updated. It offers the builder a chance to convert tiles from some of their NWN1 areas into NWN2 ones, which means it could save a huge amount of time for all NWN2 builders. Well worth a look at! Here's an excerpt:
This plugin converts the tiles of an interior area with one of the tilesets "City Interior", "Castle interior", "Drow interior", "Illithid Interior" or "Mines and Caverns" from NWN1. Only the tiles are converted (including some of the placeables which are fixed on the tiles). Also some placeables are converted (including items in their invertory). All other creatures, triggers, encounters, doors, lights, ... are lost. Not all tiles are correctly converted, because not all have a NWN2 equivalent.
The plugin works using a database file where for every NWN1 tile ID, the NWN2 equivalent is noted. The plugin simply searches the database to convert the area. I made the database by making a special module for NWN1, containing all the tiles. By rebuilding the same area in NWN2, I could build the conversion database. The module files I used are also downloadable here.
Thanks for your contribution Sothis B. If you'd like your work in the spotlight, drop me a line.

PWC Files for Online Roleplayers by Bruce Nielson(Modules) - This is a collection of PWC files for those in my play group: The Online Roleplayer. Serves no other purpose.
Forest Gnome and Ghostwise Halfling for MotB by hahntsak(Races) - okay I promised to upload this as well then I can start trying to fix the xml files and see which script overides to keep. before I start, for forest gnome I put druid as favored class. the PHB showed forest gnome as racially having spells and feats by level similar to druid and racial feats didn't go by level in the game. so I made the fave class druid to sort of make it work.
Custom Animal Companions for MotB by hahntsak(Creatures) - Okay these are animal companions. had a booger of a time with these. MotB added a panther, a blue dragon, and a bronze dragon. you need the epic feat for dragon companin to have either of the dragon companions. the custom ones are werewolf, a mastiff, a leopard, a dire rat, a mongoose, a winter wolf, and another wolf [it's a bigger wolf so may be dire wolf not sure.
Custom Familiars for MotB by hahntsak(Creatures) - okay I promised to upload these files once I got my copy of Mask of the Betrayer. MotB added Homunculus as a familiar and after that is a Sylph, a fire elemental, an earth elemental, a small dragon, and that blade spider. you can get the stats by checking on the original authors here on the vault. my fave is the sylph.
MWM Spartan Pack Hak by MWMDragon(Weapons) - *Tintable* It finally dawned on me to add a tint map, what a fool LOL. This is a Custom 2 pack, a Galdius and a Spartan Shield. You can blame the movie "300" for this pack ;) You can find the Gladius under the Bastard Sword "A" appearance area and the Spartan Shield under the Large Shield appearance area.
