World of Warcraft Movie Bits Wednesday, August 15, 2007, 11:19 | TheAcolyte
| Various reports are popping up around the web regarding the upcoming World of Warcraft movie following the panel with Legendary Studios at BlizzCon 2007 earlier this month.
The panel revealed that the $100 million film will be a live action production constructed as an epic war film themed on "culture and conflict" rather than a quest, told from the perspective of the Alliance. The movie will be set about a year before the World of Warcraft game story line begins and will feature a new hero described by Creative Development VP Chris Metzen as "pretty bad ass."
The script for the movie is complete but a director is yet to be selected. Legendary Pictures and Blizzard Entertainment have, however, suggested a premier in 2009 and a PG-13 rating in the United States
Shacknews has a good recap of the Blizzcon 2007 panel including the one piece of concept art shown.
Legendary Pictures is known for its recent productions Superman Returns, Batman Begins, and 300.
