August 14, 2007 - Several months ago DC Comics announced that writer Gail Simone would be joining Terry and Rachel Dodson on Wonder Woman. That transition was slated for this October with issue #13. Today the publisher announced fans would have to wait one more month for November's issue #14.
Senior Editor Matt Idelson issued a statement along with the announcement, saying, "The reason we pushed back the new team's start is that Terry had a few other commitments, and we wanted to make sure we wouldn't have to interrupt his and Gail's run with a fill-in issue."
In place of Simone's arrival will be a stand-alone issue by J. Torres with art by Julian Lopez (best known for his work on Superman: Confidential). DC released the following information about the new content: "The war with the Amazons may be over, but the wounds haven't even begun to heal. Wonder Woman has her hands full with anti-Amazon sentiment in America, much of it targeted toward Wonder Girl! When it comes to hate and fear, even a magic lasso can only do so much!"
DC also wanted to remind fans that Torres would be helming the Wonder Girl mini-series, due out this fall. The Dodsons will still provide the cover to Wonder Woman #13.
