This week's image was taken by myself on a nightly trip through Wastelands. "What were you doing in wastelands?" I hear you ask...Well I have some very good memories back there from my starting days back in open beta. -- Enjoy!

I managed to corner Canto and asked him about his latest "rant". This is what he had to say!
I have temporarily lost my will to rant! Stupid NCSoft doing it right!
(Lets get this out of the way first. First and foremost I LIKE to rant about things. Its what I do! But NCSoft is going to get a bit of a verbal high five this time around. I promise to rant again soon.)
So what is it that got Canto to lose his will to rant? Check it out here: Canto's Corner
A new week has started and sieges took place over the weekend. Right here on Vault we have the results compiled for you.

On Tuesday, Seridove brought us the latest Featured Hero of Bartz: AleenaResron! To say it in the words of the hero herself: "Yeah I definitely think to some extent you should take some responsibility in being a hero (I mean not too much, it is still after all just a game!). New players or people new to MMO's will kind of look to that I think to get a feel for what the overall community is like." Read the full story here.
Loktofeit also informed us that NCSoft and VAULT Network were about to have their very own "Meet and greet". get your details and be part of the fun!
Tuesday was server reset day but most of the start of NCSoft's latest LII event:
Zaken's Curse. Although it started with a bit of server issues and a more in depth information of the specifics, the LII population is now enjoying the hunt as intended. Good Job NCSoft!
On Wednesday Leyanire gave us one of her own visions of Aden Aden's Raid bosses Glory: Cherub Galaxia.
We also had the latest Guides work from Vampyress and her team in relation to the much searched and wanted high level recipes. Ever wondered how to get hold of one besides buying them up? then check out these quests and enjoy the fun!

Posted as an updated to the event times. Original times were based on a misunderstanding:
The Zaken's Curse event will begin on August 7th, at 10:00 PM Central Time on the North American servers, and 10:00 PM GMT+1 on the European servers. The event ends on August 21st at 10:00 AM Central Time on the North American servers, and 10:00 AM GMT+1 on the European servers. Happy cursed-pig hunting, and good luck! ~Alyra
As some of you know, there appear to be some server issues at this time. The following has been confirmed:
As you all very likely noticed, we had a data center problem which resulted in server outages around 4:00 PM CST. All is well now and the servers are back online. (Hooray!) I was unable to post anything on the forums (I was getting that odd message too) about it until now as the data center also tied to some functions of the message board.
We apologize for the downtime, and thank you all for your patience. Now get out there and hunt some piggies!

Today's hero is a first time hero from Bartz. When asked what she had to say about a hero's responsibility, this is what she had to say:
Yeah I definitely think to some extent you should take some responsibility in being a hero (I mean not too much, it is still after all just a game!). New players or people new to MMO's will kind of look to that I think to get a feel for what the overall community is like.
Also, I think as a player in general, I try to adopt some basic rules of good sportsmanship, etc. One of the reasons I am proud to be in the clan I am in today is because our leaders for the most part share that same philosophy. When you win some PVP, there's really not always need to trashtalk your opponent. Just say "gf" and move on. I think people in general will respect you more for it.
MMORPG.com played host to NCsoft Staff members Spam, Ornery, Alyra, and TwinMoon in their hour long IRC chat. User questions were submitted via a bot and put into queue for answering by the guests. Here's a part of the Transcript:
smash :asks: Is there any semi-solid release date for Chaotic Throne 1 (The Kamael) to hit PTR/Live in the US/Europe?
<[NC]Ornery> I don't have an exact date for the PTS or Live launch for the Chaotic Throne 1 launch, but I'm targeting Q4 2007 for both.
<[NC]Ornery> What I can say that it's going to be a very large update on the magnitude of Chronice 4.
Thanks to the people at MMORPG.com for arranging the Interview

For those of you lucky enough to attend the Indy GenCon and PAX (and those of you who attended Comic Con), NCSoft is giving away ingame items! Do you think NCSoft should do more of this? Official contest prizes? Event door prizes? Give us your thoughts by commenting!!
On Monday, Jay comes to use from the field with the Weekend Siege Results! And then Seri asked... "Do you think that NCSoft is listening to player feedback for events and attempting a turn around?" Let her know by voting in her latest poll. Another tidbit of news from Monday is that NCSoft will be at PAX and is giving out an exclusive ingame item to all that attend. Neat, eh?
On Tuesday, Nerukan brought us the latest featured clan: Imperious Templar! IT is a Brazilian clan on the Kain server. The clan describes themselves as "a PvE clan which is growing up were new - and having fun at the same time looking forward future raids and sieges." Read the interview and see the group screenshot here.

Cursed be all ye wretched thieves
who pilfered me precious treasure.
Cursed be yer blood and flesh
and all that ye endeavor.
Cursed be all ye filthy pigs.
Yer fate be sealed forever!
Zaken's Curse
Dread Pirate Zaken has placed a wicked curse upon those who have pilfered his treasure. Zaken's granddaughter, Bonny, is trying to set things right. She needs your aid to free the cursed souls from their wretched fate, lest they be stuck as swine for all eternity!
"Oh, now they've gone and done it! All the greedy people who have stolen from my grandfather's hideout through the years have finally pushed him over the edge. Just look at them! They've been turned into pigs! They should have known better, trying to steal from an all-powerful undead pirate captain and all, but I do feel a little sorry for them. Being stuck as a pig forever doesn't seem like a very happy fate (unless you enjoy mud baths).
I fear what kind of retaliation this will mean for my grandfather. His temper gets the best of him, and he's a bear to deal with sometimes, but he's still family. Besides, I think the thieves have learned their lesson. Don't you? I'll tell you what, if you help me undo this mess, I'll make it worth your while. I'll even put in a good word for you with grandpa! What do you say?"
You'll find three different types of cursed pigs: Huge Cursed Pigs, Super Huge Cursed Pigs, and the rare Golden Cursed Pigs. Purchase a Redemption Bow from Bonny and use the bow's "Forgiveness" and "Pardon" skills on the cursed pigs to free them from Zaken's Curse. When you cure a curse pig, you'll get either Apiga or Pirate's Booty. Pirate's Booty are tiny treasure chests which may contain a valuable Golden Apiga. Bonny will also award you other prizes each time you turn in 50 regular Apiga. Collect as many Apiga and Golden Apiga as you can!
The image of the week was sent to us by Kytach and is shot from one of the starter villages in the world of Aden: Orc town. She has captured a lovely Dusk Moon gazing over the town. Enjoy
