In IAHGames' 3rd interview installment, Community Manager Cheryl aka "Angelace" interviews David Brevik, Chief Visionary Officer of Flagship Studios.
David elaborates on his job, how the concept of Hellgate: London was born and the type of research that went into the making of the game.
David also shares his thoughts on who his choice actor would be to play the role of a Templar should Hellgate: London ever be immortalized onto the big screen.
Here is an excerpt from the interview:
Cheryl: "How did the entire vision for Hellgate come into place? How did the entire idea come about?"
David: "...My original pitch was kind of Quake and Diablo mixed together for first person shooter but has lots of items and role playing elements like Diablo. And so that's really the way it started and from there, everybody had their hands in the cookie jar and it's changed a thousand times but it's to get to where we are now"

Ivan spoke at a TOKOYPOP panel with the writer of the upcoming Hellgate: London manga, and it went really well. It was amazing to see so many fans sitting quietly in the middle of a stuffed convention center as Ivan spoke about life, love, and Hellgate. And then the signing. Out of nowhere, the crowd quadrupled to wait in line for autographed posters. Even Bill was seen in line. (See if you can find him in the photo below.)

EA have told Hellgatecentral that Hellgate:London will start hitting retail stores in North America on October 31, 2007 and in Europe on November 2, 2007.
We wanted to hit the sweet-spot for release in terms of the development schedule and delivering the highest-quality game to our players, said Bill Roper, CEO of Flagship Studios. Halloween was the perfect fit as it ensures that Hellgate: London will have an appropriate amount of beta testing, while also being an incredibly fun time to unleash the game.
Shame halloween has already passed for us in Europe by November 2.

Gamespy have posted a three page Hellgate:London CO-OP hands-on.
Overall, Hellgate: London felt a lot like a super-refined City of Heroes to me; taking a somewhat action-oriented approach to the MMO genre, but then providing enough customization for the weapons and armor to give the game the depth that I always felt that City of Heroes lacked. There are quite a few different ways to mod equipment, and while most weapons come with slots for customizing fuel, ammo or adding magic effects, there are a number of "crafting" stations where you can boost other facets of your hardware. This was one of my favorite parts of the game, because it enables players that are more familiar with MMOs to dig as deep as they like and get the most out of the game.

IGN are back once again to take a look at the classes of Hellgate:London.
Last month you may remember it was the Cabalist Classes that they took a look at with Guy Somberg and Lee Dotson providing the information, this month it's the turn of David Steinwedel and Brent Shinn to provide the information on the Hunters two classes 'Marksman' and 'Engineer'.
The Marksman
By David Steinwedel, Supervising Sound Designer, Flagship Studios
Made for the self-reliant, independent badass, the Marksman class can handle a fight, loves his or her rifle, and doesn't need help from anybody. A steady hand, focused eye, and tactical mind are all that's required to survive with this shooter-oriented class.
The Engineer
By Brent Shinn, IT Director, Flagship Studios
It's a marvelous thing being able to unleash the power of the Hunter Engineer. Ranged weapons and bots can never be a bad combination, unless you're a Fellbore in my sights! There's so much I enjoy about this class, that it's really hard to pin-point what I like the best.
