For a magazine website, the boys at Game Informer sure put out some nice online content. Tonight, they have an interview with Blizzard's Chris Sigaty about StarCraft 2:
Game Informer: With Starcraft, a lot of people would say that Blizzard just got it right. Was there ever a feeling at Blizzard like, "How can you improve on that?" and just not worry about a sequel?
Chris Sigaty: No, I don't think so much. I don't think it's so much that we definitely have to improve on it like there was something broken and we needed to fix something, but I think we wanted to give a new experience that had similarities, that hearkened to that past experience but also would give you something new and put a fresh engine out there and a fresh bunch of other things, like how you go through the experience, like Battle.netthere are a bunch of new things on the single-player front.
So no, we're not out to fix something that was brokenStarcraft stands on its own, it's a great game and there's a huge fanbase. We're certainly not trying to get in there to say, "Throw that away, here's this." This is going to be different, but you're going to have a lot of similarities in how you play. You're going to sit down and go, "I remember this," and then you're going to start assigning SCVs to minerals and go, "Oh my god, now what do I do?" So it is different, and it does take time to get into this new experience.
Call of Duty 4 Multiplayer Impressions 01:11 pm

TeamXbox shot up a hot four-page preview of Call of Duty 4's multiplayer goodness: The first thing that was evident when we started playing the game was how jaw-droppingly excellent it looks. Call of Duty 4 runs at a buttery smooth 60 frames per second, and it really makes a huge difference during multiplayer games. Everything runs along very smoothly, even when there's a ton of action on-screen, which is amazing given the insane level of detail on everything from the soldiers to the buildings. Given the fact that this is an Infinity Ward title, it's probably not surprising that the game sounds absolutely awesome, with bullets whizzing through the air and grenades leaving a ringing in your ears. If it sounds like I'm throwing some serious hyperbole around, it's probably because the game warrants it.

According to Forbes, Electronic Arts has increased its stake in rival publisher Ubisoft to 25%. Here's a recap from IGN. Electronic Arts has raised its holding of voting shares in Ubisoft to nearly 25 percent, according to reports from French stock market regulator AMF.
First reported on Forbes.com Wednesday morning, the increase gives EA 24.86 percent of Ubisoft's voting shares.
In December 2004, EA bought a 20-percent block of the French game maker, a move considered hostile by Ubisoft at the time.
EA's previously held 18.4 % of the voting rights against 22.8 % held by Ubisoft's founders.
So, does this make EA the new overlords of Ubisoft?

Barry Bonds broke the MLB's all-time home run record last night. I gotta admit, I did get a little teary.
Today's question:
If you could cheat in a multiplayer game and get away with it, would you?
