      Tales of the Sea: Goeben

In July 1914, the German battlecruiser Goeben found itself trapped in the Mediterranean. Facing crushing Allied superiority, Goeben's commander managed not only to escape two British squadrons, but to help bring Turkey into World War I on the side of the Central Powers. Goeben survived World War I and, in the 1950s, became the oldest operational capital ship in the world.
