Visually, the Wii version outshines the PS2 game, as expected. However, it's not just about graphics and textures. The PS2 version has a shakier framerate at this point, and we saw a little bit of slowdown during our demo time with it. Even with that in mind, there's lots of time to optimize the visuals for the Sony version of the game.
All in all, our time with Crash of the Titans was pretty brief. It's got quite a few months before it'll be ready for prime time, but we got a feel for the basic mechanics of gameplay. PS2 owners can look forward to a fairly familiar Crash adventure, complete with the feel of Metal Arms mixed in. Wii owners, on the other hand, can look forward to a lot of crazy gestures tantamount to social suicide, although some are still in the process of getting adjusted. We definitely want to see how it all comes together in a few months once the Radical team manages to harness in the potential of the Wii remote. Until then, Bandicoot fans, find comfort in knowing that your old pal looks to be returning in fine form this fall.
